I use transmission on my linux machine and utorrent on my windows. Although utorrent is garbage and so is the windows build of transmission, any suggestions?

I use Deluge on my seedbox and uTorrent 2.2.1 on my PC, simply because it doesn't choke when loaded with loads of torrents. I don't really know what I'd recommend for Windows, to be honest, other than uTorrent 2.2.1. Everything else I've tried just hasn't really been able to handle a large load effectively, with the exception of Tixati, but that one just has a rather bloated interface from the get-go.

qbittorrent is what I've used on Windows for quite a while now. A simple client and a lot better than the new versions of u/bittorrent filled with ads etc.

qbittorrent is the best thing currently on windows. rtorrent is the best overall client for linux as far as I'm aware (RX14 knows more about that than me)

I use a really old version of utorrent, the version right before utorrent became bad. recently it's started to play up on my macbook though, and i'll need to replace it with something preferably command line based

I had recently been using μTorrent, but then I had eventually ended up switching to qBittorrent.

Deluge. It's a solid torrent client to be honest.

I use qbittorrent, but i'm mainly using it to download some files faster

I used to be strictly BitTorrent for years, though recently I've switched over to uTorrent since it's a little lighter on resources. The ads are kind of annoying, but it's been working great so far. Speaking of ads, anyone know of an ad-free torrent program?

this was only a problem if you downloaded the file from their website. If you updated your transmission im pretty sure you were fine.

rTorrent with ruTorrent as the front end. I load torrents by downloading them to a specific watch directories based on the content.

Their website was hacked and the OSX version was replaced with ransomware. It didn't affect windows or linux and it wasn't an issue with transmission itself. So yes, maybe their developers are incompetent at securing servers but transmission itself is fine. Plus if you're using linux it'll be packaged and signed by your distro anyway, so this sort of thing won't happen.

This is how I felt about Linux Mint when it was replaced with a backdoor'd version.
