Adding on to the fact that you need around $1000 in computer hardware to meet the recommended specs and avoid simulation sickness, it is very safe to say that 2016 may not be "The Year Of Virtual Reality". We still have the Vive to look forward to, the first couple impressions coming out of CES say it's a massive improvement over the previous version, which was already competitive with the Rift. If Valve can undercut Oculus before May, there will probably be a mass exodus in favor of the Vive.

You use a controller, but it's be nice to be able to look around from a fixed cockpit. Something like TrackIR comes close, but Oculus would theoretically allow you a full sphere of vision. That said however, the hardware requirements are steep, and the price tag is way outta my league. In the end, it just isn't worth it for something you can already accomplish with a pause button and mouselook.

Actually now that I think about it the only thing I'd probably use this for is for porn. Not worth my money.

The controller will probably be used in the majority of games, since it's easier to use than finding the keys on a keyboard with a monitor strapped to your head.

So it basically has the price of a new console when it comes out of the market. Even though it's more expensive than I thought it would be, it's still at a reasonable price and it will drop in a few years, being more accessible for everyone. It's a shame most games nowadays give me motion sickness, so oculus rift is something I won't be able to use for more than 30 minutes sadly.
