With this and the above it looks like you're an STG guy I see
I'm a novice but have a friend who's really into them. I'm trying to clear Extra in Touhou Koumakyou but always have one or two good runs and then lose all my energy. Not enough time in the day these days...

yes i love my shmups :33
I haven't played Touhou but I heard its quite a bullet hell! >o<
I'm the same way, I get a really good winning streak and feel invincible but then i lose my momentum!
more people should play touhou
clone hero
For the first time in years ever since it came out, I finally 100% on that, and I can do it all again on the PC.
I been around the map for 80 straight days, four lunar cycles, 30 gameplay hours, ten saves, and lost three lives to a 5-star chase when trying to get a tank for a mission, a full SPAS-12 round to the face by the mafia, and a splat on the Admiral's hood on Stowaway.
With this version I got from the other night, I can definitely try for a quicker 100% that I now know all the stuff from my years of experience, it just takes luck, and it sure does load up the missions and interiors very smoothly and quick. I am aiming to beat Veuceu's time at best.

My favorite circles are diaoyezong, demetori and yonder voice but this has nothing to do with this thread.
For bullet hell type of games, I like games like rabi ribi more. I get to do all these cool and hard maneuvers to dodge bullets. Just using arrow keys and focus doesn't feel as exciting for me.I've been playing Elona for a few days from morning till late at night. I never thought I would enjoy a CRPG/Roguelike game.
What I like about it is that it allows me to do whatever I want and tell a unique story the way I want it. I can roleplay as a pianist, never train in combat and just perform to get money and level then hire people to clear dungeons for me. That's so cool! I wish putting more points in wis also gave more interesting dialogue options but I guess it's not easy to implement. Every where I go there's always new things to discover like drinking from a well can (with a tiny chance) grant me a wish that I can use to obtain anything in the game or give me an alien parasite waiting to burst out of my body like in the movie. I've only put 40 hours into it though, there are still so much to learn and discover.
the music in shmups are the best! x3 I still need to download a whole bunch of soundtracks still!
rabi rabi looks super cute! I'm probably going to get it now lol
水面の朧月 wrote:I used to play GTA:SA all the time on my cousin's computer. I didn't know much English back then so I just used cheats I found on the internet to spawn tanks, guns and explode everything. It was fun. I kept thinking about the smurfs and mushrooms then I realized shmups is shoot 'm ups haha. I heard that Touhou is more like an interactive music album than a game. Rabi ribi is not only cute it's actually really good. Personally, I believe bullet hell games should not be played on the easier difficulties. The developer is going to release a DLC for it soonish so maybe wait until then to get the whole game. Thanks for checking it out.
Stopped playing Elona for two days to study haha. I'll pick it up again tomorrow.
omg i used to play gta:sa all the time with cheats lmao, i didn't have internet at the time so i would have them all written down in a notebook lol
I never even played the story i would just drive around picking fights with police xD
lmao smurfs, they should have a smurf shmup! that would be great!
I have only played Touhou a handful of times, my partner has it on their computer, but I think I'm gonna play it somemore eventually
I'll forsure check out Rabi Ribi, cute games are the best games! >.<
I usually just play on normal mode since I really suck at dodging lol
What's Elona like?
Loko wrote:So Kingdom Hearts 3 is both a blessing and a curse
Mostly because Proud Mode can be an absolute nightmare at times sigh
Curious to see if they'll add a critical mode. It ain't Kingdom Hearts if you can't do half max health with insane damage buffs.

I honestly don't know how to describe it but I really like it. I don't think a lot of people would like it. I mean, It:
Is turn based
Is not beautiful or cute
Is a roguelike game
Is a CRPG
Has a confusing control scheme
Doesn't have a good story
The best thing about it is the freedom to do whatever you want, tell your own story in a world that feels alive. I think someone else is better at describing it than me.
watch a few of the video that person uploaded on it, I'll probably check it out! x)
what is this new resident evil 2 like
Ten or so years ago, when I was just a wee bairn, my eye was drawn to a lovely little game known as Supreme Commander. I'd never played an RTS before, and the new graphics card I had to buy netted me around one frame per second in major battles, but I didn't care. I was absolutely enamored with the
I've been on a bit of a strategy kick lately, which is great 'cuz there's so many awesome games to play! There's Supreme Commander for when I'm feeling competitive, XCOM 2 when I wanna kick back and chillax, Worms with friends (which I deffo need to get back to), and Crusader Kings II when I want to lose myself in another world.

Strategy games are amazing.
Although, I have not played any competitively except starcraft. When I was growing up there wasn't a big competitive scene/comunity here for RTS, mostly just DotA. I saw Grubby playing warcraft (the rts game) once on TV but I was too young to understand what it was.
Most of the time I just play against computers. I still try my best to beat them on the hardest difficulty and get all of the achievements (if I really like it).
One of my fondest gaming moments are when I beat the final allied mission of Red Alert 2. I was 9 at the time so it's about 12 years ago. Wew, time flies.
I have played SupCom as well
Someone said that Starcraft is shit and SupCom is superior so I had to tried it. It was really nice. Flying mothership that shoot purifying beam, giant death robots, bombers with the size of a 8 giant death robot, air craft carrier submarine, artillery guns that can shoot across the map. I wish more games had experimental units. I don't think it's a game I would enjoy playing competitively though. I just want to sit back, turtle up and build cool stuffs and fight against endless hordes of units.
I haven't tried XCOM because I don't really enjoy turn based strategy games. I spent a lof o times playing CIV and Endless legends. They both get kinda repetitive after a while. Combat in these games are kinda boring.
I also really like the commandos series. It was so brutal, if you enjoy digital suffering, definitely try it out.
None of my friends like RTS games so I'm stuck playing alone
Anyway, I'm still playing Elona. This happened yesterday lol

This game is amazing. I don't even need to look at the map. Everywhere I go there are things to do, stuff to see.
SupCom is great! The nature of its economy puts a very large emphasis on maintaining control over vast swathes of land with tiny sprinkles of resources, which dovetails wonderfully with its emphasis on big battles and a frankly vast selection of units. It's small wonder that the game captured my heart back in my middle school days, even if only ran at 10 fps. ( Amazingly, I remember waiting fifteen minutes after pressing the button that wins a campaign, till finally the cutscene played. Now that was took some dedication. xD )
I'd offer to play with you in a heartbeat, but sadly multiplayer is pretty challenging for me atm. If you're looking for a good time in singleplayer though, perhaps I could recommend a pirated copy of Crusader Kings II? It's got a lovely anime portaits mod if you're into that, almost makes it like an advanced version of the Sengoku Rance VNs. ^^
It's also got (w)incest.
yume nikki again, i love madotsuki

Have you ever played any of the fangames?
I played .flow for a while and really dug it, though it was so cryptic I could barely progress anywhere in it. There's only four main branching paths so it's a lot harder to find your way to the deep areas and easier to get fed up with. Unfortunately I lost my save in it when my HDD died last year.
Yume 2kki is supposedly a massive project made by multiple fans which is, no joke, at least 20x larger than Yume Nikki itself. I've always wanted to try it. Though I've always been a bit too slow for these kinds of games lol.
I'm actively playing CS:GO and recently picked up SoulWorker, it's a pretty good MMORPG in my opinion. I've also played through countless DDLC mods, and I'm an osu! addict.
