I watch people on YouTube enjoy themselves game.
I am a pretty boring person.
I've always wondered about let's plays... why watch someone play when you can play for yourself?
Though you're right, it can actually be entertaining to watch on occasion... except PewDiePie. We don't go there.
This will sound pretty petty of me, but here's my reason.
I mostly watch let's plays/walkthroughs of games with extremely vast single-player campaigns (The Walking Dead, The Last of Us, Alien Isolation, Fatal Frame, etc.). They tend to be mostly horror genres, but the reason being is that, while I love horror games, I know that the shock value/playability for most types wears off after the first playthrough - and I'm stuck with a $50-60 game that I probably won't play again. Watching someone play these games gives me the thrill of the game's story, but sacrifices the gameplay itself.
Usually though, I do find some nice games they've played that I've bought myself after seeing them do it.
