This Week:
Choose this one as by recommendation from @Nanashi . Another reason I choose this is that the community is fairly small, which you will be able to see in a minute, and that I simply had a very limited amount of time for this weeks thread.
Well, onto the categories, or category if you'd prefer so. We have the Any% Standard category, finishing the game as fast as possible on Standard difficulty. And the Any% Novice category, playing through the game as fast as possible on Novice difficulty, which doesn't have any records in it at all.
Let's go over the Records in Any% Standard then.
In first place we have squidclaw holding the current WR for around a year now with his 30mins 38secs (Real Time this time, since the WR is on an older patch were the in-game timer didn't work correctly), followed by Eviona, getting his 33:16 on the board two weeks ago. And in last place we have Tohloo, who pb'ed with 47mins 01secs around three month ago.
Now, about the main glitch used in the run, the hover-glitch. Basically, how this glitch works is, when you are mid-air, you can do a stomp attack were you rush to the ground. This attack has a a few frames at the beginning were one falls slower, due to the fact that the devs made a small delay for the animation to start to make it look cooler. But the attack can still be canceled whenever, so you just start the attack and cancel it again before the actual animation starts over and over again to falls slower and make more ground horizontally.
As for guides for this game, there aren't any really. All I can recommend here to anyone who wants to pick up this game is play it a lot and watch a few speedruns of the other people on the leaderboard (Tohloo, squidclaw, Eviona).
In case you want a video with a little explanation form the runners and a few of the devs I recommend checking out the video from AGDQ 2015.
In case you haven't noticed yet. Yes, there are only three people in total on the Leaderboard, with a difference of 16mins and 23secs between first and last. So, in case you wanna bring some life into the community, feel free to go ahead and do so.
Sadly, that was it already for this weeks Weekly Speedrun Community. I'm very sorry that it is only so short.
Anyhow, feel free to give me any kind of questions, feedback or recommendations.
