I by far, prefer the paper books to the e-books.

I was someone (and still am) who absolutely love paper books. I literally have owned several thousand and read way too much. I tried reading PDFs when I was desperate to read a book I didn't own and couldn't afford and I had tried reading eBooks on an iPad and phone and just couldn't stand it eBooks. ... Until I got a Kindle Paperwhite as a gift, decided to try it out, and I absolutely love it. I still will buy physical books and read them with joy often, but I would passionately recommend trying a Kindle Paperwhite for a week, it is SO nice to be able to read in bed without having to turn on any lights and the brightness be just the right setting and you can bring thousands of books with you anywhere without taking up much space at all. Not to mention the battery lasts for so long you can charge it once in less than an hour and use it casually for a couple months... And of course if you be a scurvy dog willing to sail the digital seas for eBook plunder you can really get a dream collection going on. =^_^=

I used to hate E-Books when I had to use a tablet for some text books, found it very hard to read on and the glare was very unpleasant. But recently I purchased one of newer model kindles and I like it a lot. It's a pleasure to use and easy to carry. I don't know if mine is on par with other e-reader models but I have heard Kobo is a great brand. I don't really prefer one over the other I like paper but also like e-books as long as the device used to read them is an e-reader and not a phone/tablet.

E-books have never been my thing. They are way cheaper and more convenient, however, I have always favored paperback books. No idea why.

I prefer Paper books, but i think i'll get an ebook reader for travelling, but i will never give up the paper books, i don't really like the thought to have books just in digital form.

I'm not really a fan of books, but I feel like throwing in my two cents and saying that yes, I also prefer physical media. It's why I still buy CDs (not quite the same thing as a book ikik).

I'm not alone! I never leave the house without a book either and always get made fun of for it. ;_;

I'm not anywhere near as attached to physical books as you guys seem to be; I'll read in whatever format is most convenient at the time, which for me is trending more and more towards ebooks rather than physical books.

Me, I just hate reading off a screen. I'll tolerate it out of necessity for light novels and academic papers, but if I'm hankering for some Dickens, I'd much rather take a trip down to my local library. People seem to romanticize the feel of paper in your hands. Apparently there's a smell, though I've never perceived it.

E-Books or Paper Books?

Definitely prefer physical copies to E-Books. There is something about reading a paperback that is lost to an electronic iteration. I have a bare-bones Kindle that doesn't even have a backlight and the screen has roughly the same dimensions a standard book page so it's as good a substitute for paper that I think I'll ever get.

E-books are low-cost for maintaining, hoarding and acquiring in general, and there's also (potential) higher availability in the e-book world, and on top of that the traditional things done to books (highlighting, citation, bookmarking, organization) are done more efficiently when one is dealing with an e-book. Honestly, I'd say e-books win over-all, despite the sentimental value of paper books, and in practice I use e-books more often than paper books. I only buy paper books when I like a book quite a lot and it has become important in my life.

I use both, usually I first try to get a digital copy since I can carry the e-reader with me more easily; That won't stop me from taking a physical book too, however.

I'll also buy books I really liked in paper form to hold onto. (If I really really really like a book I'll get a third copy for lending purposes)

I got my first Kindle when I was 17, with money from a summer job, now I'm on my second one...how I miss that keyboard ~

I prefer paper books but they are so expensive compared to just finding a PDF online for free, which I can also search through very easily. For example, the book Majmu' al-Fatawa:

Paper manga does look good on the shelf, I do have to say. Just more convient to have everything on one device.

Whenever possible I try to get the physical copy of a book. With LNs or stuff I'm unsure on though I can make do with readers. It's a very convenient way of scouting to see if a series is worth its salt.
