E-Books or Paper Books?

I by far, prefer the paper books to the e-books.

I was someone (and still am) who absolutely love paper books. I literally have owned several thousand and read way too much. I tried reading PDFs when I was desperate to read a book I didn't own and couldn't afford and I had tried reading eBooks on an iPad and phone and just couldn't stand it eBooks.

... Until I got a Kindle Paperwhite as a gift, decided to try it out, and I absolutely love it. I still will buy physical books and read them with joy often, but I would passionately recommend trying a Kindle Paperwhite for a week, it is SO nice to be able to read in bed without having to turn on any lights and the brightness be just the right setting and you can bring thousands of books with you anywhere without taking up much space at all. Not to mention the battery lasts for so long you can charge it once in less than an hour and use it casually for a couple months... And of course if you be a scurvy dog willing to sail the digital seas for eBook plunder you can really get a dream collection going on. =^_^=

I used to hate E-Books when I had to use a tablet for some text books, found it very hard to read on and the glare was very unpleasant. But recently I purchased one of newer model kindles and I like it a lot. It's a pleasure to use and easy to carry. I don't know if mine is on par with other e-reader models but I have heard Kobo is a great brand.

I don't really prefer one over the other I like paper but also like e-books as long as the device used to read them is an e-reader and not a phone/tablet.

E-books have never been my thing. They are way cheaper and more convenient, however, I have always favored paperback books. No idea why.

I prefer Paper books, but i think i'll get an ebook reader for travelling, but i will never give up the paper books, i don't really like the thought to have books just in digital form.

I'm not really a fan of books, but I feel like throwing in my two cents and saying that yes, I also prefer physical media. It's why I still buy CDs (not quite the same thing as a book ikik).

I'm not anywhere near as attached to physical books as you guys seem to be; I'll read in whatever format is most convenient at the time, which for me is trending more and more towards ebooks rather than physical books.

Me, I just hate reading off a screen. I'll tolerate it out of necessity for light novels and academic papers, but if I'm hankering for some Dickens, I'd much rather take a trip down to my local library.

People seem to romanticize the feel of paper in your hands. Apparently there's a smell, though I've never perceived it.

Guess I am the only one who prefers e-books. I have all of my light novels on Google Books and it's nice to have them anywhere I go.

How can you not smell paper 0-0.

I like a good book, but I've never tried a kindle, which seem to be a really fantastic alternative - no backlight, just an e-ink display. Sounds pretty cosy.

I flip flop a bit. I still love the physical act of turning a page and everything else that comes with holding a book - but I can definitely see the benefits in the space I'd save if I had all my books on a kindle!

Paper for manga and the occasional Bryan Lee O' Malley comic, I just feel more motivated to read them when I have them physically and...don't, otherwise.

For books that are required for some reason (ie classes, work, etc.), ebook, all the way. If I can save money obtaining a book I don't particularly want or probably won't use, I will. There really isn't a downside to it, and that only becomes more true as time goes on.

I'm attached to physical books because of most of the reasons already listed (feel of pages, smell, et cetera), but I'm pretty sure I'm just being sentimental. I used to feel that way about physicas CDs but now I think Steam to be vastly superior.

I guess in short, I prefer physical books while thinking that e-books are honestly better (on Kindles, not iPads).

I prefer eBooks becasue I can zoom in on the pages if I want too, and its easier to save my page on there than using a bookmark, and having it fall out in my bag. Also, some paper feels weird on my hands. The text book, glossy paper makes my skin crawl when i touch it. Lastly, you never have to worry about breaking the binding due to the words/pictures on a page being too close to the center.

Paper for legit reading material, like for school. E books all the way for mangoes and LNs.

I have a lot of manga in physical form but if it is a series that I know I really want to read, I get it on my tablet because I can read it all in one go if I need to lol. That and scanlation groups sometimes do a better job that official translators.
