I use scryptmail for my things that should be a bit more secure, protonmail for irl shit, and cockmail for signing up for stupid shit/steam accounts.

Using other people's mail hosts is fine and dandy, but personally I would recommend to either:

Set up your own mail server! There are plenty of guides (digital ocean does some good ones which will at least get you up and running), and its a fantastic learning experience! If you want a little time sync and peace of mind that the only person who can read your mail (ok, providing you use SSL between you and the mail server, and PGP in transit, aaaaand correctly secure your server) is you and your recipient.

Or if you aren't as privacy conscious and just want a cool domain to send emails from:

Use a service like Google or Zoho to host mail from a domain you own! If you aren't particularly technically inclined, then this could still be a learning experience. Both of those services offer webmail alongside IMAP/POP so you get even more convenience with very little setup cost. Zoho is even free!
