  • 44 percent of Republicans favor a Christian theocracy according to a new survey

A new PPP Survey reveals that 44 percent of Republicans favor making Christianity the official religion of the United States. While that is not a huge surprise, it becomes more frightening when you realize only 53 percent of Democrats and Republicans combined oppose the idea.
That is because 28 percent of Democrats said they favor a Christian theocracy. That number is shockingly high for the liberal US party.
It gets worse, though, because according to the poll, three out of four adults favor eliminating the First Amendment which would destroy the secular government we have now.

How does this make you feel?

Making the country a theocracy would mean drastic changes to the Constitution and the government itself.
The title is misleading; making Christianity the official religion does not mean changing the government into a theocracy.
This is not surprising, since the US is 78% Christian.

Saying that you want to repeal the first amendment should be punishible by death.

         Christianity and Islam are almost
the exact same fucking religion, they're both just off-shoots of Judaism that evolved
separately over the centuries. It would be hypocritical as fuck to ban one and not
         the other.

I think it is worth pointing out that the Quran has very defined guidlines about how governments ought to be structured and what laws need to be upheald in comparison to the Torah and Bible. It's also noteworthy how Muhammad compared to Jesus or Moses actually was a murderous warlord. That said, the Torah and Bible both have some sick shit in there, albeit not as structured as in the Quran. An example of Christian lunacy from the Bible is that you must kill your wife if she turns out not to have been a virgin before marriage.

In my honest opinion, this whole article smells of lies and bias.

It is, I read through the official survey and the way they present it is skewed.

EDIT: I misread some stuff, ugh.

People just love to misrepresent statistics.

          It's like an addiction.
