Anyone else play it? I recently just got into it after jumping through some hoops from start-up. In case you don't know what Kancolle is. The game is fully JP, and there's no inherent English translation, but there's interfaces and viewers you can use to play it with ease. It's probably a bit more known about being that one anime about anthropomorphic ship girls. [video=youtube] [/video]

I'm pretty far, I think. Been playing for almost a year, HQ lvl 94. Ya drops are hard early on, stuff like getting all the kongou class can take a while. Of course, once you get them though, the endless sea of kongous begins.

Think I can finally progress now.

Nice! Fusou was my first battleship too. She carried me through all the maps up until like 2-4 or something. Lucky you! Which heavy cruisers did you get?

Kako, Kinugasa, and Aoba - only using Kako in my main fleet right now, though. My current fleet is: Battleships take up a lot of resources, I'm starting to realize. Also, unrelated Kongou:

Ohh man, those are some solid shipgirls, lucky you. And ya, battleships take a lot more than other stuff. Battleships and carriers will just eat your resources before you realize what's goin on, it's crazy.

I've been playing on/off for about 2 years but I had to make a new account because I lost access to my original one and there is no tech support for gaijin ;_;. It's been a few weeks since I last played because I've been so busy IRL, but I love Kancolle so fucking much! This past weekend I cosplayed as Naka at a local con and it was great.

Did either of you watch the anime? I only liked it because I already liked Kancolle , but otherwise it wasn't really all that good; there was a distinct lack of direction and pacing seemed off IMO. Can't wait for the sequel!

I haven't watched it yet, but I hear that it's mostly aimed toward the audience that's already a fan of the series.

There's actually a few UIs out there that you can use to navigate through the game, as well as helping manage your ships better. One is a standalone app, while the other integrates directly into your browser.

Ya, the UI things really help. I use kc3kai, which is a chrome plugin thing, but I've heard good things about the various others out there too!
Who's hyped for the event? It's in a few days! I'm pretty hyped, this is gona be the event prinz drops for those that don't have her. I can feel it

Oh man, all I've been doing is just leveling my destroyers for the past few weeks or so. Not sure I'm prepared.

I think it's just circumstances, but I'd kill to have a Wo-class on my fleet.

To this day, I still have no idea why Kadokawa decided to keep it JP. There's obviously a gigantic potential consumer base out there; just look at all the clones that popped up in China. Perhaps they think it's a lot of work to re-dub all the characters in English.
