Annoying as they may be at times, weaboos and otakus are still anime fans like the rest of us. From an economics perspective, I'd imagine those two groups constitute a sizeable chunk of the international anime/manga market; every minute they watch and every cent they spend encourages more, better titles every season. Studios are willing to take more risks, as there's always a stable market for their mainstay series. Without them, we probably wouldn't be here.
That said however, I kinda feel bad criticizing them. The younger ones, well: We all go through a cringey phase of our lives. Some just have it worse than others. And as for the older ones, I mean, most of my friends* from the high school anime club ended up saddled with dead-end jobs and recurring depression. Not exactly the kind of person you'd wanna drag through the mud.
*I use that term very loosely.
