I can be a real alcoholic at times. I'm not one much for beer, I'm more of a rum and whiskey kinda guy, usually rum because most of the time it's cheaper. Mostly I drink Blackheart, it's a cheap but tasty high-proof rum. Black Patch is also good, cheap and tasty. Also Captain Morgan tastes really amazing, but will leave an awful after-taste in your mouth the next morning.
I drink way too much for my age though. I usually start drinking at about 10pm or later, just watching anime and movies, and will last till at least 1 or 2 o'clock or so, sometimes later. I drink for a variety of depressing reasons that I won't go into now, but mainly I have a difficult time sleeping. But when you find yourself going back to the liquor store time and again not to buy stuff to feel good, but just in a desperate attempt to get some sleep, that's a red flag. I've been off the bottle for a week or so now, and I have the will power to stay away from it, I've done it before, but I still can't get any good sleep. I know I'll be a hardcore alcoholic when I get older, and I'm okay with that, but I just want to be healthy until I get to a point in my life where I don't care about my health anymore. I don't want to be the youngest guy in the world to get cirrhosis of the liver.
I realize that I should find ways to drink less, or rather slower each night. I think one of my problems is that I drink alot during the day, water and tea mostly, I just like having something close by to constantly drink from, I'm a sipper not a guzzler, but when drinking alcohol at night that works against me. I'll have a glass of 93 proof rum sitting right in front of me while watching anime and my sipping habit means that I drink too much too fast. I suppose drinking beer instead would help, and playing games while drinking would help too because it would distract me and preoccupy my hands; but I don't really play games now, I just need a gaming machine, all I have now is this crappy laptop.
