Well from my previous post about me rebooting an older laptop I had (which still works and I'll never sell it) I had gotten one hell of a deal!
My co-worker/friend had a laptop and was trying to sell it for some time and he told me about it. When I held the bag (mind you I did not know what type of laptop it was), It had like added 10 pounds to my already overweight body. It turn out to be a Dell XPS M1730 with its 250wat power supply. The thing is HUGE. The biggest and most unique laptop I've ever held. I mean, it had DVI-D and S-VIDEO! What laptop do you know that has S-VIDEO and DVI-D. It also glows in 4 different places and three of them can glow 16 different colors. The keyboard glows too with a media center button array in the front. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz CPU, 6gb of DDR2 ram, BLUERAY DVD DRIVE, 4 USB 2.0 ports, 10,100,1000 Ethernet nic, Bluetooth, Wireless N and 3G cellular. And for graphics it has 2 Nvidia 8700m GT 256 cards. Mind you this thing is thick enough to have two 3.5in HDD stacked in this thing. All for the price for $100.
Now, you might think this is a WHOLE LOT for just $100 right... Well hear's the problem. This unit came out when Nvidia had some major problems with there engineering crew and had major losses. It turns on just fine but the graphic card failed when I was trying to install Windows 7. So in-order for me to use it I need to get a replacement graphic card. Yes, it's that big you can replace the graphic card in it.
Well doing some searching around, I found some other cards for between $40 ~ $1,500. But yea. You get what you payed for... I think is what they say.
