So it's been almost a week since Blood Drive came out, surely I'm not the only one here who's a fan o the series! Anyone else out there purchase Blood Drive as soon as they could like I did?

Corpse Party, a recreation of '96 RPG Maker-made survival horror for PC-9801. Nowadays, the game pretty much tells the story in a similar setting, the 16-bit climate is rebuilt perfectly and the genuine sense of fear can be felt under appropriate conditions.

So, pretty much - RPG survival horror with vn elements. You perform various tasks in different chapters to pass said chapter. Each chapter contains several bad endings, each of them creepier than the previous, with only one way to earn a good ending - and if you fuck up somewhere in the process, you won't know until you face a bad ending.

The story's pretty creepy, though.

So, it's similar to Dangan Ronpa, just with more survival and less murder mystery?

(as well as possibly being a source of inspiration for Dangan Ronpa)

Not by a long shot. Danganronpa is a mix of 999 and Ace Attorney. Corpse Party is a legitimate story-driven survival horror set in a RPG-styled world, with you going around the map looking for clues as to how to get out of where you are.

The games are pretty great, but the media outside of them, I can't help but feel is Gorn. The anime had some pretty extreme brutal death scenes, and the ecchi-based manga was just... I don't even know.

[spoiler]In the manga, one of the characters gets penetrated to death by a tentacle shadow, and the final survivor is implied to be raped into corruption to continue the cycle.[/spoiler]

lmaoo ya, fricken Musume. I try to ignore the existence of that manga. The other mangas are fine but that one....somethin else.
