Desktop apps being built with web technologies is not brand new to technology but it seems to be getting bigger.
What is your opinion on desktop application being built with things like coffeescript?
If you are unfamiliar, check out Electron which is one of the more prominent frameworks and is most notable for the Atom text editor.
I personally think that the idea is really cool but I don't think the technology is really ready for any significant commercial use due to speed limitations. Maybe one day, but it begs the question: why even bother when you could just use native code?
