Mysterious buyer acquires Adblock.

The ‘Anonymous buyer’ conspiracy has caused concern for Adblock users and they have raised number of questions on social media sites, such as:

Should I trust AdBlock Extension anymore?
Who owns the Software I have installed?
Is it NSA?

What Should you do?

I personally am watching ABP closely for new updates and dropping it completely, and swapping to uBlock.

Download uBlock with a simple google search.
Remember that ublock(.)org is NOT in relation to the uBlock we are speaking about. It states it on their browser download pages.

I thought the "anonymous buyer" of AdBlock was ABP? They aren't the same plugin.

Apparently no one knows who the buyer is, I myself used ABP, but I made the swap to watch things just because I want to be careful myself.

Adblock and Adblock Plus are really different. ABP is open code and its privacy policy is clear, Adblock's is not. Confusing I know, confuses me sometimes too, but they are indeed different things.

Personally I feel uBlock is better anyways, but still things need to be looked into.

As I said above, basically i'm not sure the relationship between ADB+ and ADB, they are different. ADB is the one that was sold, not sure about ADB+. Stay safe, do what you gotta do, privacy is privacy for a reason.

I had good intentions. As they aren't related to a site that pops up #1 on google, I figured I'd give the exact words that I typed to not have the site as one of the first responses when they clearly state it isn't them.

The buyer was probably a large advertising company like Google, adblock would be killing the advertising industry.

I use all three, ads rape my computer

using all three sounds like it'd eat your ram.
