Dreams and Aspirations

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and thought I would start a get to know you type of thread.

I am just curious what everyone's dreams were when you were a kid. Did you want to be a spaceman? Firefighter? Have you reached that goal, or changed it? What has stopped you from achieving your dreams? Or have you gotten everything you've wanted in life? Lets discuss how our lives have been affected by growing up and what changes that we have made to these goals.

When I was younger I had always wanted to become a spy and go on lots of missions. Now being twenty years old I realize that being a spy would not be very fun after all, lots of languages to learn and mostly just sitting in another country watching how politics are playing out. That realization really turned me off to the idea of being a spy or doing any reconnaissance. Currently I am studying computer science at a college where I live, I hope to one day find a job in the field of security.

I was pretty silly as a kid I remember wanting to grow up to be an Icecream Vendor but my teacher said that wasn't an acceptable answer since I could accomplish so much more. All I wanted to do was eat icecream all day and make kids happy :<

Honestly I'm not sure what I wanted to be as a child. My mother always beat the idea of material possessions being worth more than anything and told me to become a doctor just so I could make lots of money. Right now I'd like to end up working at or owning a datacenter.

I can't remember my dreams as a kid, I remember having a hard time deciding what I wanted to do as a kid

Right now I am pursing a degree in Computer Programming and I hope to land a job writing software. Other than a career I also want to learn as much as I can before I die, and do something to leave my name behind.

I don't really remember what I wanted to do as a kid; from the age of fifteen I wanted to work as a web developer though, and got that opportunity at the age of nineteen.

When I was like 7 I wanted to be a pizza guy, cause it looked really cool. Then I wanted to be a scientist, until I was like 14, and then I wanted to be a teacher. Now I'm going to trades school and hate myself for it ;-; I might have a neat job opportunity in the IT department of a mine though, that'd be awesome and I might actually enjoy my life.

I'm sure I've already told everyone this by now, and that it's pretty obvious but I want to be a composer for rock music and such when I'm older.

Uhm, I won't say much because I'll write paragraphs as to why.

A good example about how much I like music is that it's like a drug to me. I think about it night and day- it never gets off my mind. When I don't listen to it I feel bored. But whilst I listen to it, I feel pained because I love it so much.
Y- You get what I mean?
