So with my return, I'm hoping to start a new mini-weekly (IE; Minimum of once a week) series of games that I heavily recommend either because of their quality or in an attempt to bring our forum together to a certain MMO if we're currently inactive (supposedly some still go on Tera, but it's not exactly a community-wide thing. Also, Tera is Terrable).
My first recommendation stems from the latter, Wildstar.

I've played Wildstar for a short while during the beta back in it's P2P days, having managed to enter the closed one and slipped into the open one. However, upon release, I stopped playing because of said P2P aspect, seeing as how I'm not made of money. However, that's no longer the case: Recently, it seems that Wildstar went on over to NCSoft due to lack of interest under their previous publisher (which may have been Carbine themselves, I'm unsure) and the decision under their rule was to make the game F2P with P2P aspects. Nothing really new when it comes to MMOs, eh?

The game takes place in the far future. From what little lore/story I know (not really spoilers since I know as much as 5 or so levels in), there's an ongoing power struggle between two factions called the Exiles and the Dominion (Good Guys and Bad Guys respectively). There's a possibility of rich Eldan (Dead Super-Advanced Race) technology/energy in a faraway, hostile planet called Nexus, where the peak of war between the Dominion and Exiles shine due to the stakes and the proximity to the final goal.
The Exile/Dominion faction-sense seems to be largely lore- and quest-based, meaning you aren't pitted immediately against each other unless some event or other such demands it so or if you become involved with PvP. It memory serves, both Dominion and Exiles get three distinct races, the fourth of which is humans (Exiles) and Nazi Humans (Dominion).
Alongside that, there are four jobs (Explorer, Soldier, Settler, Some other thing) that influence the perks you get in certain areas, your distinct missions, and what you can do to help other players around (Explorers focus on map completion and can mark shortcuts, Soldiers kill shit and make it easier to kill shit, etc.). Yet again, there are a few classes which I can't terribly recall due to some of the variances, but essentially it can boil down to Warrior, Healer, Assassin, Gunner, and Mage. Except.. You know.. You gotta add a Space- prefix before each one, so it's immediately cooler. Combat is a tad more dynamic than click and attack considering you can move while attacking and manually dodge as well as most attacks, even basic ones, having a certain range or telegraph timing. I just prefer combat in that sense, personally.
So, wanna play? Lesplay.
