Fanfiction General Thread

Do you ever read fanfics? Ever written a fanfic? Are they worth your time in any capacity?

I've never invested any time into reading others' fanfics (I assume most of them are terrible, but I don't really know that) but I'm always coming up with ideas for some.
I started writing one the other day. I'm not sure what I should do with it, or if anyone would even be interested in it.

I've read a bunch and I should probably read more. My favorite story ever is in fact a Harry Potter fanfic. You can read it here. It was finished this year, so we're hoping it manages to win the 2016 Hugo award (yes, it is that good).

Fanfics are a major past-time of mine and have been since 2009-2010.

Check out my Favorite Stories, and don't bother reading my one fanfic since i wrote one chapter and never continued it.

Also no offense @[deleted] but fuck hpmor. I'm glad that it introduced a lot of people to fanfiction but I can't stand the writing.

Edit: @[deleted] I'm more than willing to be your beta but you'd have to do something like Google Docs because I'm not an official beta on ff.net

Edit 2: I went and made a usergroup for this because this is in fact something I am passionate about. You can find here.

How far did you get with it? You're not the first I see complaining about the writing, but I still don't get it. I found it to be perfectly well-written and even hilarious at times.

HEY, I think that's really cool and all, but what exactly do we do with this "group"??? Does this mean we get our own private threads, or messages, or what? Sorry I'm very new here.

This theme take me to a long journey in the past. The first time that I had internet, the anime Card Captor Sakura was in vougue in latinland.
I was excited, I didn't care that the web pages took a lot of time to load, my old Dial-up internet memories remind me of a spanish page about anime, I was really innocent at the time. One of the categories was called "Escritos de los fans" (Fan writings), there I found a "Sakura Card Captors" category.
When I click the sub category I read the most sexually explicit strories ever. More of the plots were about Sakura and her friend Tomoyo. Is not a secret that in Latin america Card Captor Sakura was uncensored and that Tomoyo was in love with Sakura so reading all the inner thoughts of many people (mostly girls) in the stories was really interesting. From highly passional stories about platonic love to hardcore stories describing sexual positions between girls and detailed descriptions of where and when they feel pleasure. It was a blast, I knew of the existence of pornographic sites but at the time I did not dare to search or enter to those sites because I hear from a classmate that there was something called Internet history and that can record every site that I visit. The only computer of the house was of my father and I was really inexperienced with computers so when I found that spanish anime site, it was the equivalent of watching pornography. Since then from time to time I like to read Fanfictions of the series that I watch. This of course is a guilty pleasure.
