Meta tags give your browser, or any search engines more information on how to display your page.
The main meta tags that you should include are these:
Tell the browser what character set you are using:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
Tell Search Engines how to display your website in the google rankings:

Any other meta tag should be added only as you need it. :smile:
