From 8's /tech/ I found my way over to Lainchan, from there I saw Sushichan.
I just started using Lainchan a little while ago. It seems nice, but a bit slow. How is Suhichan?
I think I'm starting to adopt a mentality of going to many different comunities rather than relying on one big one. Is that how you guys do it?
It's nice to have somewhere to go when your main site is down, at the very least. I see more and more people mentioning Sushigirl recently (since it had an advertisement partnership with Lainchan, I think), so I'd wager it's growing. While I'm at it, I don't see samachan in the thread, that's another small one I see named here and there.
I'll leave this here too:
If you want, go to Sushichan's IRC and ask for Creamy's updated google doc, the one I linked is horribly outdated, and I guess I forgot to bookmark the doc.
Just about every board you could ever want (and many you really don't want) is on there.
One caveat, though - if you think Lainchan's slow, most of these niche, hole in the wall boards are going to look comatose to you.
I like to think of them as cozy, out of the way pubs you can hang out and relax with the regulars in, long as you're willing to get a feel for the atmosphere first.
