I'd like to know, Lewd.sx, what is your opinion on 4chan's /a/ board? Be honest. What is your personal experience with that board?
How often do you browse it?
How do you post there?
How have you noticed it changing over time?
What do you think of it now?
Past? Present? Future?

I have my own observations to make, but I'd like to hear your story with that place, with that community, really...

I have been on 4chan for about eight years now. My experience with /a/ is also about that long. I browse there every day; I even have a tab open right now. The content that 4chan offers as a whole has changed a fair bit over the past few years, though the way it is delivered has not changed at all. The userbase seems to have shifted towards people who are a bit more social, or at least more outwardly anti-social. All in all, it's an okay place if you know what you're looking for. I prefer it over Reddit for simply hanging out and talking with people.

I don't go on /a/ much. I usually stick to /g/. But every once and a while I will go to /a/ to find cute anime girls. It is good for that so I like it.

It's like the rest of the boards, it's mostly shit, but you can find some gold in there so I still frequent. The Mogra threads (especially on New Years Eve) are usually brilliant, nice to hang out in with a few alcoholic bewerages at hand before you head out into town.

I rarely go to /a/ The few times I went there, most of the posts implied that there were lots of assholes, but I never actually ran into any. Silly weebs....

Pretty much this, the only reason I go on /a/. Sometimes they give me good recommendations, too.

How often do you browse it?
About 2-3 hours a day (and other boards and chans as well)
How do you post there?
I don't post, I just lurk.

Sometimes board quality goes right down, then goes back up (happens with all boards though) (esp when moot destroyed /pol/ and then left)

What do you think of it now?
Allright, I hope that the quality of posts gets better.

I prefer /jp/ over /a/ because the post quality is alot better in my eyes.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't browse the usual boards that most people know. The most obscure person I remember was one that used to browse /ck/.

/fa/ is something not to be taken seriously because of all the idiots lmao, but i use it a lot to get inspiration for my outfits. Been going on there since 2012 and i'm finally starting to find a style for myself. Have a few designer pieces now but still need to get nice shoes. It's hard when you live in a place with no nice high end stores around to try anything on so ordering things online is always a gamble. I post around if i know about anything but I won't post on the WAYWT board till i'm 18 obv, even though all they do is shit talk everyone's fits. But there are some nice people on there that are helpful.

I use to spend a lot of time on /a/ a few years ago but ended up making /g/ my main board. I've been going to /a/ a lot more recently though, I really dig it. Having constant activity is really nice.

Like practically any board on 4chan or any other imageboard, if you get the culture you usually get gist of what people are conveying.

There's only a few boards that really take its subject matter seriously, and even then, it should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'd wager its them. You should check out the /a/ or weeb boards on other imageboards. They'll be slower than ~~shitchan~~ 4chan, but therefore you won't get too far behind and can probably avoid spoilers. I recommend lainchan, sushichan, 8chan, and krautchan if you speak or know German. Lewdchan is someplace you should obviously visit as well. Overchan is a good way to find a good imageboard that works for you though!

I think I found 4chan via a post on YTMND about the Habbo raids by /b/, although /b/ didn't really keep my attention as much as /a/ or /jp/ did.
I lurked until I heard about 8chan during that whole shitstorm period, and liked the concept. From 8's /tech/ I found my way over to Lainchan, from there I saw Sushichan.

Part of me feels like /a/'s quality has gone down overall, but that just might be my problem - imageboard culture tends to be ephemeral, at the best of times.
Sometimes it feels like I'm watching the rise and fall of an empire, except instead of watching a city born of brick, made into marble and reduced to ashes, it's just a pit full of shit being filled with more shit.
I haven't posted in a while, but I lurk occasionally. 8/a/ is closer to my pace, anyways. Just enough posts to keep things feeling like they're moving, with the occasional thread that outlives some smaller boards.

I don't go to /jp/ spinoffs as much.

I just started using Lainchan a little while ago. It seems nice, but a bit slow. How is Suhichan?

I think I'm starting to adopt a mentality of going to many different comunities rather than relying on one big one. Is that how you guys do it?
