So, today I impulse bought the domain lewd.ly. I quite like the domain as lewdly is an english word, found in pretty much every english dictionary imaginable. While I understand that some of you wouldn't like the change (for reasons like "i don't like change"), I feel that changing the domain would do well for the community. Some people don't quite understand the joke behind the .sx domain and write it off as either a poor choice in a domain TLD or as a ripoff of a shitty larger community that used a .sx domain and was also named a four letter word that starts with L. Even if neither are true. The site would function as normal with the .ly domain, with the .sx domain redirecting to the new domain. The only issue is that our current banners might have to be edited to show lewd.ly instead of lewd.sx.

I think lewd.ly is a better domain than lewd.sx.

I'm, personally, fine with both! ^-^

Change is fine with me. I do still have the PSD for the banner I made, although you haven't uploaded it ;-;

Sounds aight homie. I'd be down with the change.

I disagree with the domain, solely for the reason that lewd.sx seems more fitting. And it feels like you would have to change the name of the forum to fit the domain better.

Make them mirror each other, and let the people choose.

Someone should make a site wide questionnaire... Though my answer is "if it fits, it ships!"

I prefer lewd.sx but it doesn't affect much and works either way so I don't really give a shit which we use.

16771 .ly tld reminds me of a certain other site which I've developed a certain distaste for (skidly) that'd be akin to saying, "I won't use the .org domain; because NAMBLA uses it". :^) 16773 although you haven't uploaded it ;-; sorry qt, forgot all about the banners thread 16778 And it feels like you would have to change the name of the forum to fit the domain better. idk why you feel that way, the forum is currently named Lewd; it'd be named Lewd after I changed the domain. 16780 Make them mirror each other, and let the people choose. I'd prefer to keep the site under one domain.

lewd.sx -> lewd.ly - thoughts?

suicid3Panda

chiming in again.... i prefer lewd.sx but we are also on a decline in traffic and usage so anything that may help breathe life into us.... although would a slight domain change really do that?

Ashley

imo domain hacks only work when the first part isn't a word in itself, so it forces people to read the entire thing as a word.
for example: prote.st, because prote isn't a word, it makes you read it with the st extension to form "protest."

Lewd.ly sounds a hell of a lot better than Lewd.sx. And yeah, the first thing I saw was the domain and it made me think of a popular forum that had .sx
I think the change would be really nice.

I like it the way it is, but it won't be the end of the world if we changed it either.

.sx is better than .ly

PS: please don't use .sex

PS: please don't use .sex

I'd only make .sex redirect to lewd.sx if I ever bought the .sex domain. c:

I just assumed it meant "lewd.sex"(that was already taken or something) but lewd.ly is fine too

Usuka

I personally find lewd.sx to be more phonetically pleasing. Lewd.ly is too lewd tbh.

It's one of the reasons why .sx was chosen, a play-on words - at least, iirc.

Yep, the name spawned with @"Equinox" was set on making a forum named dire.sx, and seeing that sx was pretty much readable as "sex", I thought it was pretty amusing to change the name to lewd.sx in the site templates.

I ended up buying the lewd.sx domain for equinox and the name stuck :3
