What games do you revisit or replay?

    Gundam Crossfire.
It's a bad game that isn't worth more than $5 (and even then I have a hard time justifying that).
However it does capture (unintentionally) the clunkiness of piloting a giant robot the same way Steel Batallion and R.A.D. does. GMs, Zakus and other MS that walk move a lot slower than the Dom. Also Beam weapons are extremely OP as they're shown in the show, and a lucky bazooka shot might kill you. However the melee is completely broken and unless you get luck it's just faster to shoot the enemies point blank.
Sadly if it were more polished it might be a mediocre PSP Gundam Assualt game with balancing issues.

Also Bandai managed to salvage whatever engine they were using by making U.C. 0081, which is fun, and Gundam Side Stories, which is ok, playable unlike Crossfire.

Tell me about Tales of Symphonia

I hear good things about the Tales series.  The battle system seems similar to Star Ocean and Grandia (god-Tier RPG battle systems)

I own like 4 Tales games.... I have played zero.  Come to my house and shoot me in the face for my infractions against gaming

Tales of Symphonia is about regenerating the world that is on very low mana supply. The cause of this is because a great war thousands of years ago depleted most of it. It also doesn't help that a group of evil half-elves, known as Desians, consume vast amounts of mana in their human ranches. Don't wanna ruin the story too much, but it's damn good.

But what makes the game great are its combo system, free flow battle system and high customization. I have at least seven different save files on the GCN version and have put in about 1000 hours in total.

Tropico IV seems to have an infinite amount of replay value. It's easy, runs great on mid-end hardware, and has lots of polish; pretty much the perfect comfy game. I usually redownload it so I've got something to do while I'm sick. ( Which is often. v.v; )

The Digimon RPGs. Especially the ones for PS1. I'm going to play Re:Digitize a second time now. After that probably Dusk or Dawn (The Nintendo DS Digimon games).

For a long while I'd replay Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door every few months or so and try out a different playstyle. I haven't touched it in a year or so but I think it's still my most replayed game.

Summon Night Swordcraft Story 1, 2 and 3: Compelling story, good graphics, awesome fight system, weapon "customization" and you get to choose between a cool robot, a waifu, and edgy demon or a furry to accompany you during your journey. Sadly, every Nintendart ain't willing to aknowledge these games as the best RPG's in the history of the GBA.

I have four different save files on the last boss fight because I could never figure it out :(

I'm an absolute sucker for replaying the kingdom hearts games, mainly BBS and the second game(just for reference, I believe I had around 200hours on BBS and around 400 on Final Mix spread across like 10 saves each) and I occasionally replay need for speed underground two as well as Carbon: Own the City(the PSP one)

I go back and replay rpgs that i've already beaten whenever I don't have anything else to do. I think I've went back to shin megami tensei titles the most. Love the hell out of those games

Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword continues to be the best entry of the series in my opinion. I've been playing it for half a decade now yet there's so much of it from scenarios and modpacks that I haven't even tried out. Not to mention that I still have never managed to get a cultural or diplomatic victory.

Skyrim! I'm kinda addicted to modding it over and over again.

Haha, well I might as well state the obvious!

I had a perfect town on Animal Crossing City Folk, but I sold that Wii a long while ago. I can't find the same enjoyment in New Leaf and I've been meaning to replay City Folk again.

Arcana Heart 3 as my avatar might clue into... it's the only game I really care about becoming good at.
  • spellthief 08-13-2017, 04:43 AM
I keep going back to pre big-bang maplestory servers.
Just like when I was playing retail back in the day, I could never quit.

Once in a while I like to fire up WARGAME: Red Dragon and imagine if the Cold War went hot. It's a shame the AI's so crap; in terms of fidelity, it could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with ARMA and the Red Orchestra games.

Skyrim is also pretty great. Might revisit that once I get some things sorted out.

I actually forgot I even had WG:RD! Apparently I've spent 7 hours playing it (as opposed to 45 for AirLand Battle).

I don't really re-play games all that much simply because most of my favourite games are large time commitments. I often get a surge of nostalgia for something, but that doesn't always translate to me sitting down and replaying it again. There's just so much new stuff out there I want to try!

For me, it's definitely retro games that I like to replay, usually because they're short contained experiences. In particular, I love my Sega Saturn, and play NiGHTS and Panzer Dragoon on it frequently. I cannot get enough of those games. I also really enjoy playing Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast from time to time. The aesthetic and soundtrack combined with the quick arcade gameplay makes it easy to pick up off and on.

Yume Nikki also gets an honourable mention here.

Pokémon (any version really, Platinum and Crystal are my go to games) is also always a solid game to come back to. Sometimes the real world gets me down, and escaping into a game in which most everything in the world seems right is uplifting. Plus, I associate Pokémon strongly with my childhood, so it always manages to make me really happy.

Oftentimes I just like to throw on some music, grab my joystick, and cruise around on Elite: Dangerous.  It's mind-numbing, but in a good way. I've found it's a similar feeling to playing Euro Truck Simulator 2, or even just driving aimlessly around the countryside past midnight.

It can get just the slightest bit tedious though. To the point that I've considered learning image-recognition programming just to create a functional autopilot.
