And who's to say it sounds better in Japanese?
In all likelihood it probably doesn't, but if I can't understand the language and am too busy reading the subs I'm much less likely to notice if it's bad unless it's Cookie★ levels of blatantly horrible.

Christ... maybe it wouldn't sound so bad to me if I hadn't heard the Japanese dub first.

Bad? Naw man, this is awesome! :D
I love when the English VAs throw their own quips in the script. Lets me appreciate how passionate they are.

Yeah I like both the dub and the sub in that case. Not a big fan of the show though

What, you don't like watching elementary schoolers go through fits of sexual ecstasy? :P
Heh. Aside from that though, I hear the show's pretty alright. It helps that Kobayshi's one of the coolest gals you'll ever meet.

Started on subs and just kind of stayed in the habit. Though I actually prefer Higurashi's dub, I think that's because it's easier for me to get scared when I don't have to read subtitles.

This is turning out to be one of the best dubs I've ever heard. Leah Clark sounds exactly how I'd imagine Kobayashi in real life, especially whilst drunk off her ass.

Too bad i can probably understand more japanese than what i can decipher from kobayashi in that dub. Sure it's good but i'd need subs to understand it.

This show might've faded somewhat in my eye, but the English dub is still to die for.

Bahahahaha, how was the first English dub of Cardcaptor Sakura (ahem, sorry, CardCaptors) this horrendously bad? Like, granted, the VAs were probably paid pennies, but for Pete's sake Sakura sounds older than me. >.<
The hit-and-miss musical score aside, what's interesting to me is how they splice out important plot elements just to make the show even more kid-friendly. This was from the "Jelly Donuts" era of dubbing, and it shows, but it's not like kids never develop an unattainable crush on an older friend. Or, y'know, stumbled across Japanese in some capacity.

Compared with the newer version, there really isn't any contest: https://youtu.be/wIFDyKN_Nqo?t=552

Hohohooo, this is freakin' rich. Who needs an Abridged Series when the dubbing cast's got it covered? :'D
Hell, I would pay good money to see 'em pull a Ghost Stories and adopt this for the rest of the show. They might even make Season 2 watchable again!
"Is this what you're looking for?" "Is it?" "Yeet."
"YOU THERE, IT IS I, GENERAL MOOSE! ... ONE-V-ONE ME, BRO!"
"And she used all her Patreon money to get all the equipment! That's why she has a million subscribers, I guess!" "Oh nooo, RIP Amanda... hehehe!" "She's the reason I got demonetized." <3

Bahahaha, man, people get angry over the stupidest crap sometimes. Back when Miss K's Dragon Maid got its English dub, this one dude went on an essay-length tirade about how the dub was SJW propaganda, just 'cause of one line that was probably improv'd by the voice actor.
In case ya didn't catch it:
Kanna: "I know the truth. You seduced her with your-, your body!"
Kobayashi: "Hmm?"
Ka: "You cuckold!"
Ko: "Hmm."
Ka: "You slut in glasses!"
Ko: "Oh-kay, pretty sure you're making a mistake. Don't slut-shame me- Whoa, okay!"
Ka: "Break up with her, slut! Give her back!"
YouTube comments are the worst, am I right? And they didn't even mention Kanna's perfect line after Kobayashi called her out. xD

Haaah~... I love Lucoa in this dub. She's like the perfect blend off "Big Sis" and "Sugar Momma", with a tinge of southern drawl overall. I hope I can sound like her someday. ^~^

I used to be strictly sub-only but I can appreciate quality dubs.
I'm still sub-first for shows that just take place in Japan, fantasy and whatever I'll look into dubs if they're good.

I watch subbed 95% of the time. Most dubs feel cheesy and I swear there are only like five voice actors doing English anime dubs now. That last part is funny though, because I like watching an anime in Japanese, recognizing a voice actor, and racking my brain trying to remember where I heard their voice before.
Spice and Wolf, Redline, and Panty and Stocking are the notable exceptions for me. I get this strange nostalgic feeling from Spice and Wolf's art (mainly the backgrounds) that makes me connect it with childhood cartoons. That's probably why I like it in English.
