But when it comes to myself, I feel like there's this tremendous wall trapping my thoughts from spilling out. I've learned to cry for others, to feel my own pain for other people. Why is it so hard to reconcile with myself? How do I cry for my own pain?

I find thinking about past happier times helps

I didn't know Manga Music Videos (MMVs) are a thing now:

Pretty cool idea to animate Manga images like that!

I'm getting into coffee lately and I just discovered this website https://honestcoffeeguide.com/tools/coff...ter-ratio/
It's really helpful! Now I can have consistent coffees from day to day, and as I'm learning my coffee tastes better and better. I really enjoy brewing coffee!

Coffee is great if one puts some effort into it! My daily coffee intake sits at half a can of cheaply made filter coffee at the moment, really need to get off that shit.

Your post reminded me that I have a nice mokka can, as well as an espresso cooker sitting around that I could use. I even have a pack of one of Istanbuls finest ground Mokka, that my flatmate brought from Turkey. I think I'll have a taste of that one tomorrow morning :)

Haah~, the things we do for our closest friends.

I've been struggling to reclaim the capabilities I want sign for 4 health insurance denied me that medicine. Even though I have it, it's been hard, and I'm monitoring myself every day.

And yet... when I recognized that one of my besties  was in a crisis, I gave her everything I could

I'll be feeling it till, possibly even next week. But I reckon I'm pretty proud of myself. It's truly the least I could do.

Maybe it depends on the location, but every year in the market when May approaches you can see Lily of the Valley sellers, and people gift them to each other.

Approximately one week ago, I woke up to a house fire.

All told, we were very, very lucky, and nobody was hurt. However, the entire house is filled with smoke that hurts my lungs to breathe, and repairs will take months. Naturally, we've been forced to move out, and they don't say well return till July at the earliest.

You know, I truly am amazed sometimes by my capacity for bad luck. One week prior to this mess, I had realized that a diet high in sodium was raising my blood pressure, giving me those migraines. And just as I'd assured myself things would get better, life threw me another curveball...

... Well~, no worries. I'm still gonna make the most of this, and thanks to both @malmon and @floattube, I've got past the worst of this nightmare. Here's hoping for the best.

I'd really prefer if you didn't, love... I was hoping to start talking here again, but I'll understand if you go through with it. Gonna hurt to lose yet another friend, though... >~<

That sounds absolutely terrifying, I'm glad to hear that nobody got hurt! It's seems like you are already looking forward, so I hope the repairs will proceed smoothly. Best of luck! :)

The lockdown times have convinced me for good, that having a healthy diet and excercising regularly are critical to ones physical and mental wellbeing. I'm slowly getting better on both fronts, although some weeks it's still a struggle. ^_^

    Hello!
  • XKCD Yesterday, 05:36 PM
    I want this!

    Clafoutis
    Serves 4–6

    INGREDIENTS
    1 cup whole milk
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 tablespoons butter, melted
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour

    PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 325°F. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and butter until the sugar is dissolved. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Pour the batter into a cast iron skillet or pie pan.
Now add your favorite fruit or flavoring (see below). Bake until the clafoutis is beautifully puffed and golden, 35–40 minutes. Serve immediately.

    Clafoutis Variations:
Concord Grape Clafoutis: Once the batter is in the skillet, scatter 2 cups slightly crushed Concord or other black or red grapes on top.
Cherry Clafoutis: Scatter 2 cups pitted cherries onto the batter once it's poured into pie plates.
Pear Clafoutis with Pear Eau de Vie: Core 1 ripe pear and cut into pieces. Pour the batter into the skillet and top with the pear pieces. Bake. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons eau de vie.
