I used to listen to all kinds of esoteric music from all genres so regularly that I'd go through albums a day. I still listen to a lot, but at a much slower pace and relistening to old favorites more these days. I like so much that narrowing down is hard, but here's 9 that I feel like show a good mix of the kind of stuff I like. Though it's a bit disingenuous because Mosaic.WAV is really the only one of these I'll be found listening to on a daily basis, along with a bunch of other j-core and denpa stuff.
Not in any order, just alphabetical by artist name:
Boris - Flood
Burzum - Filosofem
Current 93 - Imperium
Heaven In Her Arms - Paraselene
Koenjihyakkei - Hundred Sights of Koenji
Lykathea Aflame - Elvenefris
Mosaic.WAV - AKIBA-POP √ RECOLLECTION
Jun Togawa & Yapoos - Ura Tamahime
Various Artists - Tuva: Voices from the Land of the Eagles
I've always been a big metalhead and used to listen to nothing but metal, so that will always have its effect. I used to be really, really into hip hop, especially Memphis stuff (i.e. early Three 6 Mafia and stuff like that), but I really don't enjoy stoner culture and it kind of taints the experience for me these days so I've grown out of it as of late. Which is too bad. Oh well, maybe someday I'll be able to handle it again because WALK UP TO YA HOUSE KNOCK ON YA DO' AND BLOW YA ASS OFF.

I'm glad someone else understands my feeling! Though I always thought that the horror stuff was great, the more grim and ridiculous the better! But then again I was into extreme metal for years and years...
What a coincidence with your list too by the way since I relistened to Velocity:Design:Comfort earlier this day. Still a supremely unique record. And Atari Teenage Riot are an old favorite, still as much today as when I first heard them at 13.

Hahaha, i guess youre right the more ridiculous stuff is quite entertaining x) the only metal i've been able to get into is stuff like maudlin of the well, drone, and a few other genres.
I absolutely love V:D:C its so tranquil and pretty. her voice makes me cry sometimes :')
ATR is so ridiculous, but i love listening to it - when i gave hc punk rock a try i was expecting it to sound like that haha i guess shouting over breakcore is what i was looking for x)

Now that I'm big into Hi-Fi audio, I'd reckon it's high time I cast my hat in the ring. Lo and behold, even after grabbing a decent set of bookshelves and poring over specsheets and guides, the fact that I'm a massive weeb has irrevocably stained every aspect of my life. I guess some things are never gonna change. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ
Top left to bottom right [Non-romanized title in brackets, where applicable]:
WONDERFUL☆OPPORTUNITY! - WAN☆OPO!VOL.12 [ワン☆オポ!VOL.12]
DECO*27 - GHOST
164, Gumi - This is Vocarock
Kano - rye
Lollia - Vocalove 01
Ujico*/Snail's House - Alien☆Pop [エイリアン☆ポップ]
JubyPhonic, Circus P - Welcome to the Circus
Nanawoakari - Flyingbest ~ Shiranaino? Chimata De Uwasa No Dametenshi [フライングベスト~知らないの?巷で噂のダメ天使~]
YUC'e - Future Cake
Putting together this list was challenging at first, since a lotta my favorites from these artists were singles, but luckily I've been listening pretty widely these past few months. ( Gumi's
Wildfire and
Crystalline come to mind, but especially JubyPhonic, since the entire album had just one track on my B-list.
Her "World is Mine" cover, on the other hand... ) Most of these albums are available on Spotify, and Juby's stuff is on Soundcloud, and I'd highly recommend it all. ^^
Also, I was double-checking to see if Juby's name had camel-case, and apparently she posted this on her Twitter a few days ago. Pahahaha, ain't it great? xD

Except snail's house I also don't know any of these. Will have to check them out :)
Gonna make a 3x3 of my own as soon as I find the time! Most of the list will probably be full with video game OSTs as those are the only albums I listen to these days. The rest is mostly some singles. ^^

Putting together this list was challenging at first, since a lotta my favorites from these artists were singles, but luckily I've been listening pretty widely these past few months. ( Gumi's Wildfire and Crystalline come to mind, but especially JubyPhonic, since the entire album had just one track on my B-list.
