Here is the 24th issue of the Lewd News, written by me.

Considering none of the writers have handed a piece to me over the past three weeks, I've decided to take care of this issue on my own.

    Possible Alan Wake Sequel
Alan Wake developers Remedy have registered a trademark for "Alan Wake Returns", which may or may not mean that a sequel is planned.
Quote:Quantum Break and Alan Wake developer Remedy has rekindled fan hopes of a sequel by registering the "Alan Wake's Return" trademark.

The studio also acquired the alanwakesreturn.com domain name last year (thanks, NeoGAF).

Remedy's trademark registration comes as its upcoming PC and Xbox One time-manipulation shooter Quantum Break nears release. The Xbox One game comes with a backwards compatible copy of the original Alan Wake for Xbox 360, along with both of its DLC chapters The Signal and The Writer.

Study Fails to Prove Early Exposure to Violent Games Creates Disturbed People
This is fairly interesting, another study that proves video games have no adverse effects on our mentality.
Quote:26 participants showed signs of conduct disorder – 1789 participants didn’t, and of those 816 shoot ‘em up players didn’t develop the disorder at all. While significant results could have been helpful in deciding once and for all if video games can lead to violence, a lack of significant results helps show the industry that there is a long way to go before anyone can make that argument scientifically.

And you thought there is never a girl online? Character designs.
    Character designs for the upcoming anime adaptation of Netgame no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? (And you thought there is never a girl online?) were revealed on the official website. There's some qts;

Does anyone have any opinions on "And you thought there is never a girl online?"? I know nothing about the manga, but I'm keen for the anime to start airing on April 7.

I don't know if you have noticed yet, but our new theme is finally finished; it only too 30 years, $30m, and a ritual sacrifice of Ayu's legs to complete.

There's a few bugs that I might have missed, so if you could post them in this thread as you find them, that would be great!

    Some nice threads: [/block]

I couldn't find a link to the source, but I know who the artist is; he draws a tonne of amazing C.C. art.

Praise be unto this week's kitsune, may ye never falter.

Also, the news team totally dropped the ball this time. Senpai wrote the whole thing. Ye scallywags! How dare thee!

I know nothing about Netoge- premise doesn't really sound particularly inspired, and the art doesn't look like anything special either- but I'm definitely gonna be watching it, if only because I quite like the cast of VAs.

I read the first few chapters of the Netgame Manga, pretty decent stuff, most likely gonna watch it once I catch up with the newer seasons.

Funnily enough, I covered Netoge before in a news piece, to no response~
    makes you wonder.

Also ever since... today, the site returns 118 errors fairly often.
    makes you wonder..

Also by issue #24 writers seem to forget about the whole news thing, and so senpai is forced to write a whole thing within a shorter time it'd take me to write my piece. Then again, I do put some effort in it, and similarly, I put a huge effort this week into not writing anything.
    makes you wonder...

ALSO, senpai managed to put together a game-related article without mentioning steam's new Harvest Moon-ish title once. D:

@writers, get off your asses and decide if you're gonna keep in the game or throw in the towel.

And if I may, everyone who contributes to next week's news (and I mean, put their heart in writing something for it) will be eligible to win something. Just like that. Deadline is Sunday 23:59:59 GMT 0.

S-sorry, that was way before I joined. I would have commented if I'd been a member at the time though, the anime section is pretty much the only section I always look forward to in these news things since I don't play games and I don't listen to a lot of music.

I don't exactly understand why exactly they continue to disprove the idea that video games tend to create more mentally disturbed people when it's already been done a long time ago.
  • tn5421 03-01-2016, 03:23 PM
Maybe because I was mentally disturbed before video games, and videogames just made me more self-aware of it?

But the question remains: is the study still necessary? Was there a change in the last time this study was conducted to the recent one?

Just because something's been proven doesn't mean that we can't learn more about it.

I hated Alan Wake. the game was twice as long as it needed to be, and that ruined it for me.

Yeah, it's a nice concept but they drew it out for too long.

looks like i'll be writing the news again myself (with the exception of panda's piece). :')
