Here is the 12th issue of the Lewd News, written by the Writers group.

Sorry it's a little late again. People were busy again.

No anime news from Nanashi this week, and I didn't hear from Riesu, so Nana took over the weekly kitsune this week.

    by @"suicid3Panda"
[block]This week in public shaming, let's start off with my old friend Konami. Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami!! He still has a no compete agreement that lasts through December, but soon the shackles will finally be removed! Now this is good news. So how did Konami make it a bad thing?  Well, while pictures of Kojima's going away party and news about his leaving circled the Internet, Konami immediately piped up claiming that Kojima is not leaving, and he's just on vacation. On one hand, I'd like to point out how we caught Konami in a bold faced lie, while on the other hand, there's the possibility that they are just that incompetent that they didn't even realize that the man they were having a going away party for was leaving.

    [Image: Hashtag_-_Large_1024x1024.jpg?v=1443020322]

Next on the list is Ubisoft! Assassin's Creed Syndicate was released this past week. It was actually met with pretty favorable reviews! It's unfortunate that even the good reviews were tainted with mentions of last year's travesty that is AssCree Unity. In any case reviews are favorable from both users and critics alike. Of course, there are always a few exceptions. Metacritic user, xelrod, brings up some valid points in his scathing review:

Графика просто ужасная все как всегда просидающий фпс , баги, застревания в каретах, трафик людей хужи чем в юнити вдвое, нет такой свободы как в юнити в дома не позаходишь короче не саветую брать на мой взгляд халтура

Finally, I leave you with high hopes for a post apocalyptic future! Fallout 4 is only a little over 2 weeks away![/block]

Issue #12: Danny Seth - Perception

Danny Seth is a 23 year old rapper from London, UK whom just last month released his his LP 'Perception', which he has been working on for over two years time. This EP is sure to make a name for the young rapper, claiming to blow up soon. With the sounds of this album, he might just be right. Danny's already associated himself with two solid producers, Zack Nahome & MD$, whom produced most of the album. Danny's also worked with the likes of young UK producer Misogi and well known TeamSESH producer Curtis Heron on their collaboration 'Belated'. For someone to come out of nowhere with an album like this, it really shows us the sheer caliber of this artist. With this album dropping, we can all be sure that there will be lots more to see. It seems that we've got another rising star on our hands with this week's issue, whom we'll definitely have to watch.

    [block]Western Digital acquires Sandisk
engadget.com Wrote:Hot on the heels of the Dell-EMC megaquisition comes the news that Western Digital, the world's largest storage manufacturer, is buying one of the world's largest flash memory manufacturers, SanDisk. The deal is worth $86.50 per share, which adds up to a total of $19 billion. Western Digital supplies hard drives and SSDs for use inside things like PCs, laptops, and servers, and also sells external drives directly to consumers. The target of its affection is SanDisk, which is the third-largest manufacturer of flash memory worldwide, and is best known for its memory card and USB drive business.

Both companies are currently headquartered in California and have been operating for decades. SanDisk has been a long-time partner of one of Western Digital's rivals in the storage space, Toshiba. The joint venture between SanDisk and Toshiba will apparently be unaffected by today's news. As per usual, a deal of this size needs to be okayed by various parties before it goes through -- Western Digital says it expects things to be all done and dusted by the third quarter of next year.

OH BOY. WD BUYS SANDISK. Western Digital is the hot topic in storage options right now because the company bought Sandisk. WD is primarily known for their kickass HDDs. But they don't have a corner on the market with SSDs. The platter drives are much slower but can hold much more, and Western Digital wants to expand their fronts. So the acquisition of Sandisk will undoubtedly mean that WD will be selling SSDs soon. I'll post about them when they launch. Stay tuned for more!

    AMD R9 380X Launches
techfrag.com Wrote:A while ago, rumors surfaced about a supposed new GPU in AMD’s R9 3xx series which was going to improve the company’s position in the GPU market. Many people had their hopes tied to expected R9 380X GPU but if these recent leaks are to be believed, those hopes will be shattered soon due to the disappointing performance of the GPU. While featuring a complete new design and an improved Antigua XT core with 2048 shaders, the clock speeds and 3D Mark score seem to be quite low, atleast for the model created by a Chinese brand, ColorFire. This version of the GPU is expected to be working at 1070MHz GPU clock speed and 1500MHz memory clock.

The 3D Mark 11 Extreme mode score of the GPU was based on a system with 3rd generation Core i5 processors and the score seems to be 4024, between Radeon R9 280X and R9 290, although closer to R9 290.

Judging by this, it seems as AMD continues to disappoint with its new generation GPUs especially if their performance is going to be similar to the old generation even though they are more expensive.
Whether these rumors are true or not remains to be seen as does the success of R9 380X which will ultimately boil down to price-performance ratio. If the GPU ends up delivering the same performance as a R9 290 while being cheaper, it will most definitely make a splash in the GPU market and might improve AMD’s position after their considerable losses this year.

AMD launches the R9 380X. Sadly, this card is useless. It's right between the R9 380 and the R9 390. Why did AMD make this card? I have no clue. I doubt many people will buy this card. Come on AMD. Make some more kickass Fury X style cards!

Samsung 950 Pro PCIe SSD destroys benchmarks

anandtech.com Wrote:After shipping two generations of M.2 drives with PCIe interfaces for OEM customers, Samsung is releasing a PCIe drive to the retail market which has the added benefit of including the latest features Samsung offers. The Samsung 950 Pro is the new flagship consumer drive and it eschews the backwards compatibility and the 2.5" SATA form factor of the three previous iterations of the 8xx Pro family in favor of a PCI Express 3.0 x4 connection in the M.2 2280 form factor coupled with the NVMe protocol. Those changes allow for one of the biggest generational performance jumps in the history of the SSD industry and should help the transition of SSDs shedding the last vestiges and limited feature sets of their mechanical hard drive predecessors.

Samsung made a M.2 ssd. This ssd has read and write speeds of 2,500mb.r/1,500mb.w. HOLY MOTHER OF V-NAND GOD. HOLY SHIT THAT'S FAST. The only ssd that can keep up is their previous generation drive, the 850 Pro. Samsung is absolutely destroying the SSD/M.2 game. @"Uzinero" holy shit.

“Plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC”
vg247.com Wrote:Although Halo 5: Guardians is an Xbox One exclusive, O’Connor doesn’t necessarily expect it to remain one.

Speaking to GamesRadar during a livestreamed play session, as spotted by DSO Gaming, O’Connor said Microsoft’s push to support gaming in Windows 10 could pay off big time.

“There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC. Nothing to announce at this point but it’s absolutely within the bounds of reason,” he said.

“We developed the game on an Intel platform. It wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of PC stuff. But nothing to announce today on this chat.”

If you’d like the comments in their full context, scrub to 1:13 below. The video is a playthrough of the first three story missions of Halo 5, so close your eyes if you’re trying to avoid spoilers.

Frank O'Conner is saying that there might be a chance that Halo 5 might come to pc. I think the last Halo title that was ported to the pc was Halo 2 back in 2007. Jesus that was a long time ago. But Halo 5 on pc might mean a mandatory update to Windows 10 for their bullshit DRM. I don't want to even talk about Micrsoft's previous monstrosities. GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE. That hosting software gave me nightmares. I hope Microsoft has learned from their mistakes. Wait, who am I kidding. Microsoft will never learn.[/block]

Aw man, I'm loving Danny Seth, this is the first time I've heard of him. Thanks @Kieru .
WD taking SanDisk is actually really huge, Sandisk is absolutely huge in camera flash memory.

Just a minor typo, the link to my second episode review is titled as the first episode :P

That was actually the joke. It's funny because he gave it a 0 on Metacritic, but I had no idea why.  I did the google translate, but it was all gibberish anyway.

The news about WD might be good for them, but what I want to know is if they'll still charge a premium on their soon too be new flash products...
Also, what's the point of getting Halo 5 on PC if we're missing 3 and 4? And why are they still making more, didn't the main series end on #3 when Master Chef dies?

Master Chief is not dead. He's in a stasis chamber floating through space with Cortana. But yes, he's essentially dead unless someone/something finds him. Possibly someone finds him???

I'd want to get Halo 3/Reach on pc first tbh.

I'm surprised that such an announcement heavy week didn't get news. Oh well I'll try to summarize even though no one asked.

    Chinese Cartoons
    The Skinny
    • Premiering January is Sekko Boys (Plaster Boys) a comedy anime about four classical statues and their inexperienced manager, who are striving to make it big as a male idol group. Tomoko Takuni, whose previous directorial work is Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, is set to direct this.
    • Dreamwork's adaptation of Ghost in the Shell  is getting a script overhaul by Straight out of Compton's writer. Dreamwork's Ghost in the Shell  is set to premiere on March 31, 2017.
    • As of October 22 (last Thursday) it's possible to get Sailor Moon themed marriage licenses in Japan for the reasonable price of 3,000 JPY. They're fully functional and come in two varieties: One featuring Sailor Moon on the bottom right and the other having sailor scout items as the background.
    • Gantz and Himouto! Umaru-chan are set to receive spin-off mangas.
    • A trade mark for the next Precure series has been found listed as Mahou Sukai Precure.
Full Metal Panic Anime Project Announced
After nearly ten years since the last season and with all hopes of a continuation dead and countless dreams shattered, the unthinkable happened. This past Saturday (October 22) there was a fan event in Akihabara where a new anime project was announced for Full Metal Panic. This was the only information provided, and it basically amounts to saying they're in the process of putting together the project. While hopes are high for a fourth season (which would have to cover 4 volumes worth of content), at this formative stage it could amount to anything,: a single cour series to test the waters, an OVA, a Movie, a Spin-off, etc. All that's left is to wait until further information comes out, and find out if Kyo-ani will handle the animation. Also it's not the first time a series has gotten an unexpected anime announcement: there's currently Osomatsu-san (previous anime was in 1988), last year's Rozen Maiden: [i]Zurückspulen[/i] (had an OVA in 2006), and this year's The Disappearance of Nagato-Yuki (the Haruhi movie was released in 2010).

    RWBY is Officially Japanese
The late Monty Oum's amazing anime inspired machinima, RWBY, finally has a claim to being relevant in anime-related discussions. Not only is it getting a limited theatrical release in Japan (along with a Japanese dub) it's also getting a manga adaptation by Shirow Miwa (mangaka of Dogs and author of a Devil May Cry light novel) in Seinen Jump. This anime adaptation is set to cover some of the plot holes mysteries found within the series, and will be supervised by RoosterTeeth itself. Mysteriously this announcement and the RWBY Death Battle seems to coincide close to RWBY's season 3 premiere, which was this Saturday. If you haven't checked it out you should, you'll either hate it or like it.

Toshiro Kawamoto Gets an Exhibit Celebrating his Career
Off the heels of the tragic loss of a one of a kind drawing of Spike Spiegel, which was vandalized by an intern at Cartoon Network. Toshiro Kawamoto, Cowboy Bebop's character designer, is set to get an exhibit at Tokyo Art Gallery GoFa, which celebrates his career in anime since his beginning in 1986. The exhibit will consist of cells and original illustrations and will be split in two phases: October 24-November 11 with an autograph session on November 14 kicking off the second phase which will run until November 29.

My Hero Academia to Receive an Anime Adaptation...Probably
Monday's (October 26) issue of Shonen Jump is set to have an announcement for an anouncemnt on next week's (November 2) issue of Shonen Jump. This coupled with a recent domain registration by ToHo has led many to believe that My Hero Academia might be getting an anime adaptation. This wouldn't come off a surprise given the popularity of the series and Shonen Jump's need to find a replacement for its next big series now that Naruto is complete and Bleach's lack of popularity in Japan. However while the evidence and hype is strong for an anime adaptation, we won't know until November 2.
