    >Citizen four

    >TPB AFK
    >The Weight of Chains (it's kind of biased but it's not too far from the truth)
    >wikileaks secrets and lies (I find the anti wikileaks propaganda to be funny)
    >Revolution OS

    Anything done by Louis Theroux.

War On Terror: At Home with the Terror Suspects

I have seen a few but can't really name any :/

Gates of Heaven is the golden standard for documentaries in my opinion.

I'd also recommend Helvetica and The Act of Killing.

    "Aliens on the Moon"

A great comedy. Except it's a documentary, and that the aliens are harvesting plasma from the sun.
  • Mew 11-12-2015, 12:00 AM
    The Story of Aaron Swartz
The Terms and Conditions May Apply

I generally only watch the documentaries that revolve around serial killers and urban legends. Cropsey is a pretty good example of one.

Could you recommend some good documentaries about Mathematics, Astronomy or Computer Science? I've already watched all the ones @Idek mentioned.

    Have you seen The Code?

I'm gonna watch Into the Wild soon. Not really a documentary, but it's close enough.

    No, I haven't. Thanks.

This isn't a real documentary, but it IS hilarious: C.S.A: The Confederate States of America. It's a comedy/documentary that pokes fun at what history could have been like today if the South had won the American civil war.

Another one that I had looked up thanks to @losi . Krokodil: Russia's Deadliest Drug. It's a VICE documentary and I'll go ahead and include it here:

BBS: The Documentary, it's eight parts, each about forty minutes. It's about the origin of BBS and the subculture that evolved around it. I've only seen the first three, but it's pretty interesting stuff.

    The Smash Bros Documentary
    all time favorite doc
  • mayunaise 12-01-2015, 06:35 AM
The one I show people every single time they ask "Where do you live?"

Saw your reply and it piqued my interest, I'm on episode 5 and I'm loving it so far. Those guys are really old school.

This one looks like one of those bloods & crips documentaries that I used to watch years ago, I might give it a try.

I'm so glad you like it :D
I'll have to finish watching it.

I'd like a documentary on bara yaoi please.

The only documentary that I can think of is "The King of Hosts" by Vice Japan  but that's not really bara yaoi

I saw a really good one, well only like a bit of it.
I think it was called something like "Hunting Hitler" or something, it was on the History channel.

Was pretty cool, I should watch it someday.

I'm incredibly fond of the BBC's "Storyville" documentaries. They're only, to my knowledge, broadcast on BBC Four. The documentary on Heinrich Himmler being the most interesting; not just due to the content but the way it was presented as readings from his private letters. It quite capably explains the state of mind of the german population at the time and just how a body with such strong discriminatory views came into power. The more recent one documenting the rise and fall of the mexican anti-cartel vigilante millitia was equally worth a watch.
I think some of these are available on iPlayer though I'm not quite sure how the older broadcasts could be accessed.
