This video address the recent topics of modern and past CG versus practical effects used in movies - is CG ruining films, or is out just our perspective based on the quality of the films themselves that use "bad" CG against movies where we wouldn't even think CG exists?

I agree with him, being said, CG isn't the problem with movies now-a-days, it's the movies itself, the plot, the characters, the development, the drama in them, the twists and turns the plot takes. Most of the movies coming out now, are almost all reboots, we're tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. We're not making enough unique movies that we could actually enjoy. CG in my opinion is amazing, and it'll always make a movie better. But is the movie itself good?

When people can't find anything bad about the movie, they start looking for flaws in CG.

jk, they do that regardless of whether or not the movie is good or bad.

CG only really enhances the eye candy most of the time. Take Avatar (not the shitty Airbender wannabe movie) or Transformers for example. They're pretty bad imho, but the CG almost (ALMOST) tears people away from the plot and into how much work has been poured into that shit man. You have to respect that at least. CG can practically be considered a style by now.

There are times when it's overused to the point of "where are the actual objects" though. That can be a big problem.

But yeah, that's just my dirty, shitty two cents.

I completely agree, it's like anything else; it only sucks if it isn't done right.

Well CG is art pretty much. And art has it's own different types of style, like Anime and Manga. :3
