Last saturday, I think. Conjuring 2. It was actually pretty bloody scary, right up until the actual jumpscare.

The Way Back - Beautifully shot but I thought it dragged on a bit in some places. Would definitely recommend if you're into historical pieces.

Bridge on the River Kwai. I liked how both the British and the Japanese troops all had humanity. The Big Dumb Ending was a tad frustrating though.

I watched The Giver. Awesome movie.
By the trailer it seemed like it would be nothing like the book.
It's similar. But what would I know.
I have not read the book for about eight years. LOL.

Battle Royale. I'm not sure what I was really expecting from it. I wouldn't recommend if you've already seen/read the Hunger Games since it'll just come across as a watered down version. It was kind of neat to see how it ended up being the working print that the Hunger Games was based off of.

I was pretty skeptical of any attempt at making a movie out of The Giver since the gradual revelation can't be done in film to the effect that it was in the book. I might give it a watch for curiosity's sake.

i saw "shin godzilla" it was actually pretty good and far better than recent remakes in my opinion as this focused a lot more on godzilla. just disappointed that there were no other monsters in it but the rest of the movie certainly made up for it as it was very akin to the originals in all other respects i thought.

Hush.

It was terrible. The plot relied on the characters alternatingly holding the idiot ball, so it wasn't the slightest bit scary--just frustrating above all else.

Watched Dune with some friends a couple days back. We all had a pretty good time overall but I can see why the movie was so universally panned back in the day since even as someone who had read the book the second half was borderline incomprehensible.

Do game movies count? If so, I just saw a really nice rendition of Halo 4.

They say games have been getting more and more cinematic lately, and  I'd have to agree. While I personally didn't like Halo 4 the game, what with its long cutscenes and cramped corridors, Halo 4 the movie is downright superb. It's a much more personal story about Master Chief, which lends itself well to the silver screen.

If you're interested, you can watch the whole thing for free on YouTube.

I was watching Home Alone 2 with my 2 nephews one is 14 other is 9 and we were watching it because of the 9 years old. He said he got so sleepy and slept, which I quickly said f this and put on Deadpool for me and my older nephew. Half way thru I realized my younger nephew was awake (again?) and quickly put on lilo and stitch... which isn’t bad btw would finish deadpool but yonger kids should watch that lol

The Witch. Pretty good for a director's debut film, cinematography and production were both excellent. Not really suspenseful though.
