Their website was hacked and the OSX version was replaced with ransomware. It didn't affect windows or linux and it wasn't an issue with transmission itself. This is how I felt about Linux Mint when it was replaced with a backdoor'd version. 

Still makes me wonder why someone would go through the effort to hack a website to spread malware, and only do the OSX version. I actually looked transmission up, and came to find out it's actually an OSX/Unix client. My bad.

It doesn't matter, as long as is lightweight causing no troubles is ok for me.
