These are a few websites I like to waste my time on, if you have any you'd like to share feel free to post them.

https://matias.ma/nsfw/ - Ditto dances to Conga by Gloria Estefan
http://www.staggeringbeauty.com/ - What appears to be a tube man from a car dealership spazzes out as you shake your mouse
http://whatcolourisit.scn9a.org/ - Displays a different hexadecimal colour depending on the time of day
http://zoomquilt.org/ - An elaborate picture which is always zooming inward
http://eelslap.com/ - Use your mouse to slap someone with an eel
http://weavesilk.com/ - Draw symmetrical shapes
http://flipanim.com/ - Create flip animations
http://www.shadyurl.com/ Lengthen your url and make it look suspicious
http://findtheinvisiblecow.com/ - Hot and Cold with a cow

If I had to pick any any one word to describe this it'd be clusterfuck. The images themselves never change but every time you refresh the page they get completely rearranged and are reassigned links to some of the other random webpages on the site.

http://wwwwwwwww.jodi.org/
This one is a REAL timesink. I like to load up this site everyonce and a while and try to find new things. I first came across it about a year ago and there's probably still plenty of content that I don't know about. A news index has the most recent update being November of '99 but I don't know if that represents the site as a whole. A lot of dead links in places unfortunately. I just want to know who the hell it is maintaining this thing.

I really wish there were more sites like that. It reminds me of something from a cyberpunk anime like SE Lain; a world of bold explorers and devious subversives that congregate in the darkest corners of the internet; a world where your best friend could simultaneously be your worst enemy. Granted, we've already got a semblance of that with TOR and other technologies, but they're only utilized by a relative handful of people compared to the general population.

There were a few other websites I realized I could've included in my original post so I spent some time compiling a list large enough to justify necromancy. Here goes.

The (not so) Secret Area of VIP Quality, fabled valley of the VIPPERS. It has its roots in the VIP boards of 2ch which had a large focus on ASCII art and inane posting. Table Cat, VIPsaurus and Koyomi Mizuhara are the most popular ASCII characters and there's a myriad of other random topics. My favorite features are the three buttons above the title that play music when you click on them. I can't think of any other website that lets me shitpost to the groovy sounds of Earth, Wind and Fire.

>mugi.moe, kumin.dance, hestia.dance and yuruyuri.moe

Exactly what it says on the tin for each. The Yuru Yuri page also includes links to torrents, purchases, YouTube videos of the seiyuus goofing around and a sizeable collection of images if your YrYr folder needs fattening.

>dankmaymays.com

One of [s4s]'s off-site colonies. A shrine to all things dank, it boasts an odd combination of completely static webpages and decidedly less static webpages with each one centered around anything from flavor of the week shitposting to long standing memes like baneposting. Third King, CIAss and Froge are my favorites. It also has a flash archive with all the essentials.

>wiki.installgentoo.com

Small, community run wiki about all things technology. As the name suggests, it is focused primarily on Linux/GNU and matters of free software but also has articles on Cyberpunk culture, Astronomy, the practice of tripfagging and even E-cigs. Very helpful if you're interested in something but don't know much about it yourself. It's what I used to do my first Linux install.

>http://classic.dryang.org/japanese/teacher.html and gaijinchronicles.com

The wonderful misadventures of Azrael, a JET in Kyoto. If you're in the mood for some humorous editorials then look no further. Much of his writing covers the day to day life of a middle school English teacher trying his darndest to maintain his sanity in an outrageous land. Besides getting some laughs out of me, reading his blog also taught me some things about Japan that I didn't know about at all, such as the national past time of Japan's youth. If you want a place to start I'd recommend The Octopus and The Worst Porn Ever.

>/r/seventhworldproblems and /r/fifthworldproblems

Two odd subreddits I came across about a year ago. The former doesn't seem to be anything more than ironic shitposting but the latter has this vague rp shtick surrounding the lighthouse that's the centerpiece of the subreddit that I find somewhat reminiscent of LOST and The Prisoner. It gets me wondering what other bizarre subs are lurking in the great expanse that is Reddit.

>joyofsatan.org

Speaks for itself. Personal property of the High Priestess Maxine Dietrich. Main index contains items such as "Kids and Teens for Satan", "Join Hell's Army", and "Advanced Satanism". Click on Join Hell's Army to view a  special message from Satan to His followers concerning Spiritual Warfare. It also has a special lightweight version of its front page in case the heavy web design is just too much for your internet connection.

Afraid not, found it a while ago on some joke video someone made. I forget who.
Take this as an apology.

Stumbled across this neat little site called MakeGirls.moe that generates a proffesional looking profile picture of an anime girl based on inputs that you make. They go more into the How? here. It's pretty fun to play around with.

A rather new one I've found is
>https://www.sbnation.com/a/17776-football/
It's a virtual novel of sorts, except western and you can't date any of the characters.

Here's another one
>http://www.unicorn-dream.co.uk/unicorn4.html
It's a site about hunting unicorns. If you have a few minutes look around the rest of the site. It's incredible to say the least.

I dunno if the genuine article has news and the like, but the fanmade app apparently contains the game's soundtrack (accessible through a music player), and a primitive bulletin board system to interact anonymously with other users. All in all, pretty cool stuff! If you're a fan of the game, you should totes check it out. :3

Here, have a link! - https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai....Vallhalla

I told people about this forever ago! It's pretty cool, yeah. The smartphone app's even better; with an authentic theme, the complete original soundtrack, and a whole buncha goodies. ^^

All told, it was really nice place when I last browsed it in May. Everyone was super-chill, and the regulars all knew one another by their signatures, kinda like Lewd! I have heard the site's become infested with edgy /pol/acks, but hopefully that's just a rumor.

We now have a Net Neutrality status map that lets us look at which countries that have sufficient consumer protections or not by its color. Blue means a country has sufficient protections, red means a country is undergoing legal changes, yellow means no protections at all, and black for countries lacking data. You may have to scroll it down a little to see the map.

You can click on a country by hovering over the colored region to provide details of how a country got that color. For countries too small to click, they let you zoom in/out.

I've always had an appreciation for little pieces of e-history like that. I've pmuch lived on the web since middle school, so I can remember the last days of the "old" internet. Though I couldn't quite grasp it then, I'd imagine the death of USENET and the runaway success of Facebook might've felt like the end of an era to many people.

'Course, the new net ain't all bad. Quite the contrary; I just stumbled upon a nifty little site that houses a repository for book scans! It's got pretty much every significant text you could ask for, ranging from scholarly journals to The Conquest of Bread, and it's even got a growing library of modern and classic fiction.

Right now, I'm stepping through Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway. I was fortunate they had an English version; the corpus is largely English and Russian, but one of the novels I'd searched for was only available in French. ^^

It looks like the whole U.S. has just turned yellow not too long ago. :c

Also, Uruguay is now seeking legal changes, turning red.

bump because i love this

here are some sites i like/occasionally check on

im really into forums and image/textboards

http://afternoon.dynu.com/
a comfy site with a textboard, image, and video section. it has a news section that you can write yourself, and even an interactive part. its small and slow, but very nice.
its fun to sit and watch the videos playlist sometime.
https://meguca.org/a/
a live imageboard, people can see as you type
http://oldweb.today/
basically like an interactive archive
https://dangeru.us/
good layout, good site.
i once read about this guy treating for his sick cat in the /news/ section. it was really sad but i got invested in it.

There is something Star Wars has not taught me anything about flags, but I found a nice place where you get to see all of the flags of the galaxy.
