I love this weather, tbh. It's always so bright and sunny outside, and the ample vegetation behind my house makes for some breathtaking views. Now that I'm acclimated to it, I find myself wishing it'd never end.

But you guys have air conditioners! (Or so I'm lead to believe). I love the sun as well, but like hell are we accustomed to it here...

Could be a coincidence, but I wouldn't doubt it. This one time on my old roleplaying site, I ran into somebody who lived in the same town as me. It was breddy neat.

Tell me about it. Back when I used to visit my uni's Anime Club, all they'd do was watch an OVA and riff on it with JoJo references. Like, I get that it's a great series and all, but come on.

Which kinda leads into the "a show is either 9-10/10 or 1/10" mentality I see a lot of.
Also: "yeah, I understand your criticism of show X but it's wrong because I think show X is really cool so it doesn't matter".
Many people never really stop to think about WHY a show is GOOD, only whether they find it enjoyable or not.

To be fair, that's all that really matters to most people. I'm not gonna stop and try to analyse each episode of an anime/movie/whatever. If I enjoyed watching it, it'll stick in my mind as a good show.

TBF, I think there's a difference between a "good" show and an enjoyable one. For example, most Shounen action anime aren't particularly well-written, but attract a huge following because that's what their demographic finds enjoyable. Same goes for Love Live. On the flipside, Legend of the Galactic Heroes is regarded as an all-time classic, but I wouldn't enjoy it at this juncture, simply because I'm not in the mood for a serious political drama.

I also don't think I'd enjoy JoJo, albeit for different reasons. While I absolutely adore a show with a crafty protagonist that has to outfox his opponents, the manga is a mile and a half long, and with my schedule I'd have to dedicate an entire year (if not more) to catching up.

Short visits to Washington, D.C. and Florida during the summer made me glad I that I don't have put up with humidity. The heat's obnoxious enough when it's completely dry, I don't think I could take it if it was accompanied by muggy air.

The anime club in my high school was founded by and consisted entirely of fujoshis. For obvious reasons I never attended it. I recall my middle school's anime club being founded by the school librarian of all people. If'd been into anime back then I might've checked it out.

Went to my college's anime club. two people showed up with dakimakuras of their waifus, one dude had a tail and ears, and one kid was wearing a fedora. when they noticed me I simply asked if they could direct me to the bathroom so i could nope the fuck out of there.

been going a few semesters now everyone who watches anime and isn't like them hangs out in the game room. according to a buddy of mine who stuck it out and went a few times to the anime club they're pretty weird folk.

I could imagine a serious anime club pretending to be ultraweebs for the first meeting to mess with the new guys.
