Its pretty ironic that those who do this with drugs are the most in need of having their minds expanded! After all, no one can reasonably deny recreational drug use expands your mind; but maybe some people need to keep their minds tiny so they can feel right even if they aren't?

I mean to be honest man, I doubt most folks dose to expand their mind. In fact, everyone I've met personally either smoked or dropped acid or did whatever to either have fun or keep their nerves in check.

Upon reflection, I feel as if society could benefit from better education about drugs. While I'd still argue children ought to be discouraged from experimenting, adults would ideally understand that drugs only influence your behavior, not control it, and that different people could experience markedly different effects while on the same drug.

Fuck antidepressants tho. Every person I've known that's taken them has ended up becoming numb to the world and gradually fading out of my life. I don't think I'd want to visit that pain upon anybody.

Antidepressants are the only way I can actually function. If I didn't have mine, I'd probably be dead.

I'm sorry to hear that, mate. But I'm really glad to know you're doing well on them. Perhaps my old friends were the exceptions rather than the rule.

If it's any consolation, I know the feel. The prescription I'm on lets me live a normal life, but everything feels just a tiny bit numb. I'm hoping to quit it cold-turkey someday. Someday sooner, rather than later.

I undestand you, my mate. It's like me cannot sleep without beat my meat first.

Personally, I don't care about people using drugs or stuff, just don't make others do the same as you do. I won't judge people with it tho.

I only smoke, but if you haven't done it by now, there's no reason to start (anything). Just a bad habit to pick up, regardless of if you're addicted or not.

Spending a year on hardcore painkillers has completely transformed my personal stance on most drugs. I've long been of the opinion that people should be allowed to use whatever drugs they want (within reason), but goddamn if I'd known what I was missing. Some of my best nights as of late have been when the meds caress me in a gentle warmth, make my memories fade away... <3

That said however, I still believe some safeguards should be in place. Addiction won't disappear overnight, and the withdrawals for some things can be murder. In the case of what I'm taking, potentially literally. >_<

I have tried a couple psychedelics over the years, which were fun experiences for exploring myself.
Besides that, I have smoked cannabis near daily for the better part of 3 years now. It helps me manage my stress issues and anxiety at the end of each night.
I don't really drink alcohol, though.

You sure it's safe to use marijuana everyday? I know it's bad if your brain's still developing, but I'm not sure about adults.

Am I sure that cannabis is safe for daily use? No, I'm not sure!

I am almost at the age where the brain stops developing, and have smoked through most of my teenage years periodically (development period). I do wish that I waited until later, but now that I'm a young adult, it doesn't bother me as much. The only argument that I hear against it, really, is that it can trigger earlyset psychosis and schizophrenia, which is true (it's even marked on packaging in legalized areas); the other argument that I hear is that it makes you "dumber". The first argument is unavoidable, fortunately I don't think I have psychosis or schizophrenia; the second argument is maybe a bit true, I'm not as sharp or concentrated as I used to be.

With all of that said, I have still done a bit of a University education, I work in information security, and I write. So, even though I do think I'm less "sharp and concentrated", I think I'm still smart enough to not fuck up my life. Hehe. I'm willing to make this trade-off to use cannabis to relax and manage my stress - I have a lot of it.

Do you have any other questions about daily cannabis use or adolescent use? Happy to answer based on my experiences.

Admittedly, the only experience I have with anyone who smoked regularly in their adolescence was a complete dumbass. Probably not caused by marijuana, but still :P

Do you mix with tobacco? Apparently that's a thing some do.

Well, I'm confident that I'm not a complete dumbass, maybe partial at worst.

I don't smoke cannabis with tobacco, and I haven't ever really smoked tobacco at all. In fact, the only time I ever tried a cigarette was when I was drunk at a tech conference, I was really wanting to smoke a joint, and I made someone tell me that their lightweight cigarette was a joint so I'd be willing to smoke it. To this day, I haven't smoked tobacco besides that one occasion. I think that tobacco and nicotine is disgusting.

At this point, the only danger to cannabis that I really consider is the inhaling of the smoke. Even then, I keep all of my bongs very clean on a daily basis, and I now purchase government-regulated cannabis.

EDIT: I thought that I'd mention that every step of the way of the past 7 years, I've been surrounded by people who smoke cannabis semi-regularly. In high school, the majority of my friends smoked periodically; in University, the majority of my friends smoked; at my last job, my IT Operations team smoked together on lunch; since legalization, most of my family smokes, including my partner and her parents, too. Where I'm from, cannabis is pretty commonly consumed.

My apawlogies, you are most definitely not a dumbass ^_^' The guy I'm on about was really just the definition of dumb. He was a nice guy n all, but... so dumb.

Ah, yeah, the one time I tried a bong didn't end particularly well >.<

Speaking of, I'm quite proud of my mum for nearly getting herself weaned off of nicotine!

Just came back from Amsterdam. Smoked a couple of times while there but didn't really enjoy it. Being high in public (which is normal in Amsterdam, as it's legal there and that's what most of the tourists are there for) is kind of stressful and I don't really like holding a conversation while high. I'd rather just have a couple of beers.

Regarding my stance towards drugs: Totally fine with everybody doing what he/she wants to do, as long as it doesn't harm other people. I've tried a couple of different of drugs myself and we even had a small weed plant on our balcony last summer (we raised that one mainly for the joy of plant raising and not consumption; most of the weed went to friends or got baked into brownies). I think drugs become problematic when one uses them regularly. It's easier to get addicted than many people realize. Especially people with depression are susceptible when they start taking drugs to deal with their life instead of learning to work with themselves.

Favourite drug: LSD
Least favourite drug: cocaine

Getting off Tylenol was hell for a week, but I reckon it's well worth it. That drug takes away the pain, but it takes away the happiness too. Eats away at your empathy. That's no way for me to live.

I'd never smoke tobacco, but paradoxically, I absolutely adore the smell of it on clothes. It's not acrid or even sickly-sweet, but rather robust and agreeable. Your mileage may vary, of course.

I used to smoke weed a lot. I gave that up recently and I also plan on giving up tobacco as well. Now if weed were to be legalized in my country... I'd get high as much as I could afford.
