Trans people are no longer allowed to serve in the military. Not that I was ever going to the join the military, but we're still losing our rights because of how we identify.

I'm with you there, it just doesn't make sense to me why they would rule in favor of it despite the backbone of it being based on something not true. I think it's more of an example of the discrimination of trans people rather than just something that will bring it.

I mean... I see why the discrimination itself is bad, and really shows how oppressive the US government can be, but not being able to serve in the military seems like a perk ^_^'

I wasn't allowed to serve in the military anyway, but I come from a poor area where that was the only option a lot of people had. I hate the US military but for a lot my friends, they didn't have a choice. Being trans isn't a choice, but I feel like I'm being punished for it. And I think this is the tip of the iceberg for the removal of trans rights in this country.

I'm hoping this trend will reverse in the next 2-5 years, there's been a lot of progress on trans rights in the last 10 years, I'm quietly confident that it will continue. There's a lot left to do.

The reason why the partial government shutdown of the century being that appalling for over a month is because the Democrats are desperate to impede Trump's campaign promises such as the wall and not getting him a second four-year term. On the other hand, Trump uses it for his continuing skepticism of climate change, slashing federal funding, among other things. I can clearly see a big pattern coming from him that maybe he should step down when given a chance.

It is not just the transgender people, but the rest of the LGBTQ communities that are feeling repulsed by the very government supposedly won them some rights but not full protection. The first of such events goes far back to the island of Lesbos in Greece as an example, but it did not grant them enough traction until well into the 20th century where they thrust the issue into place. As currently there is no way for the same gender to inherit the ability to reproduce unlike the old-fashioned male-female other than being able to marry together as one of the latest accomplishments in certain states recently. Chances are it is because science has yet to find a way to make it reality for LGBTQ to thrive seriously and nature itself did not intend to invent this, we did. Therefore it remains extremely trigger prone to this day for anyone not experienced into that subject, not even myself can handle all the drama and hatred.

So far, I only have roughly one or maybe two schoolfriends of that category since school despite being a LGBT-friendly state, after I graduated in a different school far away from them from miles, I never get to see these faces ever again.

Hatred towards immigrants, lack of political action for the climate crisis, the existence of nuclear weapons, cost of living/minimum wage, and mass incarceration.

A compromise on the Article 13 has been reached, but only for France and Germany. The compromise is said that it still requires all European money-making platforms filters except if it has been around for less than three full calendar years, turnover less than 10 million Euros, or not having reached five million different individuals. The final agreed upon text comes in just two days. If it goes ahead, it will proceed to a final vote just before this spring's elections across the E.U.

I've been finding myself rather concerned about climate change as of late... This world is such a wonderful place, and I wish to preserve its beauty and comfort for a thousand generations to come. But as it stands, everything looks like it might get worse for everyone, and nobody seems to care. :c

The heatwaves are getting more terrible every year. Makes me hate going outside a lot more than I used to. Farmers across the country complains all the time about the harsher flood, salinity intusion and "weirder" weather pattern.
My parents don't seem to care and my dad kind of look down on me for even concerning myself with "something so irrelevant" lol. I guess it's true that I can just stay indoor more and turn on AC 24/7 and I don't particularly care if others suffer but it's better for me if other people prosper. More people going to school to advance science, better technology, better living standard, cheaper food, etc. I try my best to travel on foot, by bike whenever I can and have been eating much less meat but I don't think it's quite enough.
It's kind of depressing, seeing people talking about climate change every day and seeing no change whatsoever :(

I like to soak myself in the rain or watch water and clouds flow

i don't have to worry about global warming and environmentalism because my president has already said these are marxist hoaxes to destroy judeo-christian civilization and impose communism on society

I will not spare you any details on what is going on right now. First it was Net Neutrality that got me really piped last two years, then it is the E.U. copyright reform that will shove away freedom to just about everything copyrighted even the public domain to all 500 million Europeans, and now hear this. The UN wants to BAN underage anime and western cartoons both online and offline, heck, even having them around the house or with you counts if it goes into law worldwide. I can "guarantee" that everyone regardless of ideology, age group, gender preference, whether or not this is a 2D/3D concern due to uncertainty can be liable for criminal charges.

If this happens, expect the federal law agents to come knocking on your door and they will definitely be pissed about your unacceptable acts. It might even turn this we are all into as "illegal activity”, placed on the dark web, and will be cracked down by governments daily. Any sites that survive the introduction of such censorship will be blocked or shut down on sight. Some think of this as granting civil rights to over 90% of the anime population that are minors and getting rid of their creators that exploit, injure, even kill them, but I think of this as censoring creative freedom right at its core, the anime entertainment industry.

Child characters, seriously? Don't these people have, like, actual child-marriages to worry about?

I swear, between this and giving Saudi Arabia a seat on the Human Rights Council, the UN has got to be one of the most incompetent organizations I've ever known. First as tragedy, then as farce.
