I know you all seem to like Osu (I'm surprised it's not it's only section of the forum!)  I was wondering if there were any other rhythm games you enjoyed -- past, present or future.

I used to love Bust a Groove!  I own 1 and 2, both extremely rare PS1 games. DDR is probably the first of the genre which I decided wasn't for me, and they seem to have all gone in that direction.  Newer rhythm games are too difficult for me.  I haven't tried very hard, but even that new Miku game ruined me.  It's probably why I'm so in love with a 10 year old game.  I'd really like to try some new ones because I miss playing them a lot.

One of my waifus from the game :3

Well, if you count mobile games, I've been getting into Cytus and SongArc lately. :P

And yes, I've played DDR on the Wii before, and I thought I would look ridiculous trying to snap my legs on the dance mat. So I always ended up just playing with the Wii controller or the Gamecube controller. (^:

I've really only played Osu and Audiosurf extensively, and it didn't take too long for me to get bored of them.

I've heard many a good thing about Audiosurf, but how would you compare it to osu?
Also wow, Hexis actually looks really nice. I'll download it as soon as I can get my account authenticated.

Audiosurf is great! if you just want a nice simple easy game, and you have lots of music on your computer, this is the game for you!

As for Hexis, it's pretty much osu! but has one extra type of note in it. I don't even know if the game is still being worked on still and there are only 14 ranked beatmaps at the moment too, it's a very very small community. You can import your osu! maps to it, but I wouldn't recommend doing so. At the very least, the game is quite fun to play, but gets very boring with the lack of ranked maps.

I can't believe I forgot about that game! I've got it myself, I really like how they made it, so nice. But really hard to play... D: well, I just suck at it.

When I went to check the name of the game on my Steam list, it mentioned that YOU were the only person on my friend list to play it.  YAY! We're Steam friends! ^_^

Yeah, Hexis is really fun. I had a sort of normal conversation with some #4 ranked player. I also heard from him that the game is being fully reworked soon, so we have that going for us which is nice.

As for rhythm games, I've seen a pretty famous player (Ruby EK) play some pretty cool rhythm games such as Musync and Dynamix.

Here's some Dynamix gameplay!

I managed to get to like rank #34 before I stopped playing on Hexis. But it's good to know that it's still being worked on, I will have to download it again sometime. Do you know when the rework released?

Also Cytus for the mobile is really fun!

Ah, unfortunately all he told me was that it was being redone. You can try and ask him later if he's on when you download it again.

I agree! I love Cytus! It's best for me on the tablet though, there's a lot more room to play on.

Playing it on my Samsung Galaxy S5 is quite annoying, the screen is just too small... ;w;

Need to get myself a tablet!

I used to play Cytus an awful lot, but recently my phone started lagging out on everything so it's impossible.

As for other games, I do enjoy Audiosurf, osu!, DJ MAX Trilogy on PC and Portable 2, Portable 3, Clazziquai Edition and Black Square, all on my PSP. There's also Guitar Hero III and World Tour, DJ Hero 1 and 2 and Dance Central 2 and 3 on Xbone 360... and can't forget about Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2 and Extend on PSP. And I'm still positive I haven't listed all of them...

Just because Nanashi plays a lot of rhythm games, doesn't mean that Nanashi is necessarily better. c:

not saying Nanashi isn't better.

All in all, he's still had more experience with rhythm games.

As far as rhythm games go, I enjoy them.

My favorites include Guitar Hero III and PaRappa the Rapper.

No, seriously. Go check that shit out. I know every song word for word, I love it. PaRappa is a rapping dog. He meets a kung-fu onion, a driving moose, a chicken that makes cakes, a merchant frog, and eventually meets them all in a line for a portable toilet in his quest to woo a flower.

Parappa is god tier!  Sucks that nowadays, it's harder to play properly because of the input lag on HDTVs.  But did you ever see the videos of people who do the "You Rappin' Cool?"  Trippin' BALLS, man!  Also, I really enjoyed Um Jammer Lammy.

Now I think I have an idea on what it'll be like if I ever drop Acid. I'm gonna run down train tracks towards a toilet while rapping.

My favorite level is the cooking one, don't ask why <3

Bro... I was stuck on that damn cooking level for HOURS!  That damn chicken also kept fucking me up on the toilet level. >_<  I'm racist against chickens now! (because they are better rappers.)

I play Deemo and DJ MAX Portable usually during commute trips, especially Deemo. Great soundtrack (mostly piano), and it's one of the rarer rhythm games to have a storyline (a really good one at that).
