I can safely say everyone on this forum dislikes me. You might try to contest that and say that you don't, but I can assure you you do. You just don't know it yet.

Indeed, I do contest that. I know you didn't post too often, but I always liked when you did; what's more, you made some of the most interesting, informative threads on the entire site, something even I can't boast.

I think I speak for all of us when I say we love having you around. And if you've convinced yourself that you're a terrible person or something, I can say with surety that you're absolutely wrong.

Aye, it's a damn shame to see you go. But contrary to your own belief, you'll always be welcome if you choose to come back. :3

I've always liked seeing your posts around the forums. You're welcome here in my books.

I hope you and your friend can work things out, because it's sad to see you go.

Will saying "unfunny and stale" when someone makes a joke that is actually hilarious and original ever be a trend?

Congratulations! You are approximately eighty-five percent of Redditors.

Here is your well-earned Comment Karma. As well, as I am too poor to give you Reddit Silver, you shall have to make do with Reddit Bronze.

Good day, kind stranger.

Reddit

there's your problem
people on there get upboats on their autism because most other users have autism as well so it's "relatable"

I won't lie, /r/meirl / me_irl are sometimes far too relatable for me. That being said, I mostly use reddit to browse anime pics, and get angry at UK political discussion.

reddit has its use as a way of sharing and finding content, but the comment section is more often than not just memes, circlejerk and autism because voting systems don't work for discussions

It's not that bad outside the default subreddits. /r/me_irl and /r/anime_irl are circlejerks, but that's fine because that's what they're meant to be. There's some really quality subreddits which are moderated well. /r/askreddit, /r/spacex, /r/science spring to mind.

excuse me what, a huge chunk of that sub is just talk about sex because that's funny right
yes, someone trying everything suggested with rice is funny. sure, the sub is useful for a laugh or a way to pass time, but "quality" is a huge overstatement.

/r/science often has a couple good comments that elaborate / clarify on the linked article, i'll give you that.

i don't have any experience with /r/spacex, so i can't comment on that.

i'll stand by my point that any sort of meaningful discussion is killed by the voting system. reddit inherently rewards you for appealing to the majority, whether that be through agreement, "funny" memes and puns or straight up circlejerk. you sometimes get a good comment or two out of the section which devolve into shitty attempts to cash in on karma down the chain.

smaller subs fall prey to the system just like the defaults do. i've spent a good chunk of my time on subs related to my interests (often smaller games) and the circlejerk is huge in those, just like the defaults.

the only subs i actually think the comment system with its voting component is good for are AMA-style subs.

/r/askhistorians is a pretty high quality sub. The mods are ruthless.

I'm really getting tired of working retail. Wish I didn't go to college. I am looking to getting a full-time job so I can move out, but I know I'll be stressed working full time and school on top of that.
