Even after the destruction and recovery for the surviving staff of KyoAni, there are now concerns that there may be others like Aobi around the country almost about to do the exact same thing with other reasons than just infringement. A 40-ish man in the heart of Tokyo and a 63-year old male as far as Hokkaido threatened Square Enix and LINE respectively for "refunding a bad mobile game" and "making references to KyoAni Fire". Though none of such actual arson repeats has been done, both admitted to their actions through death threats though not as spammy, the latter of which thought he was joking.

I mean, seriously? What kind of attitude these people are doing to harbor similar intentions as Aobi, is the Japanese people really destroying its own anime culture out of acute frustration over their favorite hobbies or simply to inspire him? Is it already turning into a sick running gag?

Here's the latest article from Comicbook; it details both nearly-happened incidents. More articles about such possible repeat copycat crimes that I can find I will post it in here also to ensure that we are fully aware. Working in an anime or game studio has never been safer now.

Piracy/plagiarism can do wonders.

I hope it doesn't happen again. Have metal detectors, armed guards, only entry by valid IDs please

Sounds like a pretty good way to scare away potential young talent tbh

So being defendless to a similar act is better?

These are animation studios we're talking about, not some sort of miliraty bases or something. Having metal detectors, armed guards, and ID verification just seems rather dystopian, especially in what is normally such a low risk business.

Ah then yeah. But I would like for there to never be another tragedy again. Hopefully just security is patrolling more

I'd be somewhat surprised if something like that happened again. I would expect most other animation studios, and just offices in general to just be on a slightly higher alert than usual - not just letting randos into the building. If we really never wanted such a tragedy to ever happen again, we'd all lock ourselves in our houses 24/7

So basically, we'd all become full-time HikkiNEETs?

Sounds pretty cush. Throw in some good company, and I could dig it.
