As a very experienced gamer, I still lack a /LOT/ of essential PC games, and I was wondering which ones are particularly good in your opinions. Just rattle off the ones you've got or want, and I'll try get them all. I need new shit to play. I would prefer single-player titles due to my internet not being too good, but I'm open to whatever.

fill my holes with guzzling game goodness :^)

Hmmm. I'd start with Half Life 1 and 2. Those are classic games. I'd then hop over to Doom and Quake.

I've played Doom since I can remember, and I've played every HL episode/minisode in existence.
As far as Quake goes, I haven't played much except Quake Live.

Thanks tho <3

Pretty much anything by Valve, except for Ricochet 2 (we don't talk about Ricochet 2).

There's a few great games mentioned in this thread on my other forum. Or even if you want great free games.

Modded Skyrim is one of the funniest things I've ever done in a video game.

There are no good PC vidya right now. And old PC games are bad by now and will only make you dislike what you once thought was a revolutionary game with hoverboats. I'd recommend getting H1Z1. It is not pay to win, and everyone who still thinks that is mislead. SoE is one of the best MMO developer studios, and I have faith in them making what is already a really fun game into one of those classics we will look back on but never play in 20 years or so.

You hit the nail on the head. I think the reason why games are shit now-a-days is because they're half-assed made and they release it as a "beta" or "early access". This of course doesn't go to some games that you can actually play without experiencing the game breaking. I feel like PC gaming will (hopefully) make a turn for the better good, because all of these games that are getting released right now are broken and can't seem to enjoy them to the fullest.

I'm kind of hoping someone makes an H1Z1 thread because I really want to talk in depth about it.

In my personal opinion, there should be a larger focus on single-player campaigns/game modes in today's games because not everyone can afford to have speedy internet. While obviously dedicating a chunk to MP modes, but it's bad luck for gamers like me who suffer through some gaming experiences with the blessing of a fast internet connection.

I present to thee, Halo 4.

I agree completely, nowadays they seem to build the multiplayer and whack on the single player as an afterthought. Although, there are a lot of great indie titles that are solely single player.
