I'll abstain. I feel like I'm too biased to vote fairly, since I've only seen a good side of you through the forums and haven't been very active at Discord. If it stresses you out, I'd say you quit for your own sake, but talk it over with other people to make sure it's not very fixable.

I understand everyone has a bias, but I believe mine's too strong to vote.

In reality, all he's doing is pushing the same buttons he always has, nothing has changed. The longer he spends here, the more invested he gets, the more he forgets which life is the real one.

The two issues I'm aware of is the caps lock debacle and the argument between you and Uzi. I think typing one or two messages in caps isn't worthy of punishment, unless it's done with malicious intent. As for the other incident, what I caught of it was there was rampant shitposting and you tried to stop it, in doing so you let it continue on for longer than it needed to, rather than redirect or silence it. I see this as a chance for you to learn from certain shortcomings and come out as a better moderator.
In short, you've made mistakes, but I see your heart is in the right place. I vote no.

You've done something humble and apologized, and even gave a talk to Taymor. Even though you may think that you're an unfit staff member, you're constantly striving to do the right thing. And that is what I think matters the most. As many others have already said, this is a good learning experience. You have potential.

I support Nana stepping down from his staff position because I don't feel he's suited to it, for reasons he himself has outlined in the OP of this post.

Nothing against Nanashi, but not everyone is suited to doing the kind of work moderators have to do, and I don't want you making yourself unhappy trying to be that person.

I voted yes because I think there is too much personal emotion involved in your decisions. You are short-tempered as well and those are two things that don't go well together.

I do respect how you are noticing your own mistakes and trying to be the best person you can be, that's admirable.

And why are there more votes for "no", but when I look at the replies to this post the overwhelming vote is "yes"?

This is inaccurate, I just did a count of all the posts and the results I've gotten are as follows:

VOTED YES

@Uzinero
@Pastry
@Kieru
@Saikou
@Em.
@tn5421
@Inkjet Printer

VOTED NO

@taymor
@Jebbika
@CompaIsMyWaifu
@idek
@Customer
@Katherine
@Cloudy
@Cbum
@Lokorfi

VOTE NULL

@Senpai
@Rii
@mis
@Loli
@None_At_All

So I've got 7 votes for yes, 9 votes for no, and then the moderators and users who posted but chose not to vote. I should also note @Loli and @None_At_All (plus @mis, but I guess mods don't count) stated they are against a demotion, potentially raising the no votes up to 11 if they cast a vote. The majority currently supports no demotion, but it is only a slight lead without the 3 null votes. I don't know what @Senpai's or @Rii's opinion on this is, as they haven't really made that clear in their posts.

No big deal, the beginning of the thread is mostly Yes voters, so it's an easy mistake if you are just glancing through the posts. I just wanted to see for myself what the total counts were because it's kind of confusing having them all mixed intermittently

I am against the demotion myself, Nana hasn't really done anything that screams "I'm a bad moderator". All I've seen is Nana reacting to excessive shitposting in the lounge channel of the Discord server, which is something that requires a reaction. Sure it might've been better if Nana had've just muted Uzi for a while and not let an argument over memes persist for as long as it did, but I myself can understand how hard it can be to try and control the chat in that situation.

I did have a word with Nana about the all-caps muting ~24 hours ago, and Nana agreed to give warnings before muting in the future.

tbh Nana's done pretty well for someone that had no prior moderation experience, even given the pretty bad circumstances that Nana and the other staff are subject to; eg. people complaining after they're punished for doing something they were warned not to do.

Was @pastry banned for voting "yes" ? if so, I'm voting "no" for sure!!!!

jk

seriously though.... i agree that Nana has emotions therefore indicating that the one who controls it is human!  while i dislike humans and feel their judgments are often clouded by said emotions, I also have a feeling that there are several other humans that post here.  until we can weed out the human infection, i believe it is best for humans to govern themselves.

Nana may make mistakes, but all mods everywhere do. Nana is relatively new at being a mod on theLewd as well, so a second chance is in order. If nana doesnt feel like nana can make unbiased, impartial decisions, then nana can decide to step down, but as for panda, Panda will not be responsible for a change in leadership at the moment! Panda votes no.

Maybe also a second chance for some of the banned members is also ? RIP @Desu and @Aoz AKA "the racist fuck who uses Linux" (it would be a 90th chance in Desu's case)

also, @Rii -> qt avatar!

Although it hasn't been a month yet since my regristation, I will do the same as @Loli and want to share my opinion.
As far as I've seen, there has been some stuff on Discord that went wrong, but I haven't really seen problems on the forums itself with Nanashi's moderation.
This might be becuase I haven't noticed it but I don't see a lot of stuff about it here either.
So I think he might not be cut to moderate the Discord, but does that really mean she has to be demoted on the forums itself as well?
Can't he just be demoted on Discord?
And maybe later he can be moderator again in the future if it seems like he would be able to do it again.

In conclusion:
I think he should be demoted only on Discord.
But I'll have to abstain becuase it hasn't been a month since my regristation yet.

I don't know, although yes I did vote yes. A lot of fair points  in here, I pretty much agree with Customer and especially Em.'s post which would probably conclude the reason why I voted yes. But I also somewhat agree with some of Senpais' posts, I can't say that you have done anything wrong on the "forum" itself. It's probably more that I heavly dislike a lot of your reasoning for many things, especially discord. After seeing how you can really overreact and take things kind of personal over say.. nsfw/sfw images in lounge. Or how you would moderate all CAPS posts simply because it hurts your eyes (I totally understand the need to keep communication clean, but not your reasoning behind it. Or even muting someone for it). And last but not least the way you openly speak shit about people you hate. Talking shit behind ones back is something that disgusts me. You hate Saikou, I love Saikou. You hate Neelon, I love Neelon. You seem to dislike Uzi, I like Uzi.

I guess it's kind of simple. I used to like you but I've grown to dislike you and how you do things over time. Sometimes I can even hate you. I even recently had put you on my ignore list. I'm sorry for appearing passive aggressive, It's just that you're no longer cool in my book. I don't want a moderator who is like this, refer especially to Em.s post.

But to be very clear, you have done nothing wrong with moderation on the forum. I wouldn't mind if you left your moderator position, but I wouldn't mind if you stayed either. I am a tollerant person and I usually try to leave and do something else if I do get angry. I respect you, but not when you talk shit about people or when you're aggressive against Senpai. I like you but I also dislike you... mixed feelings.

So, I did the counting, and considering the rules, the votes are as follows.

PRO : 9
@Uzinero
@Pastry
@Kieru
@Saikou
@Em.
@tn5421
@Inkjet Printer
@Yuu
@Meowie

CONTRA : 9
@taymor
@Jebbika
@CompaIsMyWaifu
@idek
@Katherine
@Cloudy
@Cbum
@Lokorfi
@suicid3Panda

NOT COUNTED : 4
@Customer - didn't vote in the poll
@Loli - opinion shared
@None_At_All - abstained
@monothedog - opinion shared

Which means... the next one to vote will be the one to seal my fate.

Thanks for all the input. I didn't expect for the messages to be that descriptive, so it came across as a pleasant surprise. While there are some things I don't really agree with, the rest is a good input that shall serve as a base for my judgement if I stay, or a reminder what to change in my personality if I'm demoted.
Since there's no other place for this and so many people read this thread, I'll clear up some of the stuff for you.
  • The 'no allcaps rule' has been one of my rare tries at doing something as a mod, since other than that, I was sitting on my ass observing things as they go, which is not something a mod should do. The justification of it was simple, to make the chat more friendly and less aggressive, since caps is, in most cases, nothing more but a passive-agressive way of saying things. While it may change the sound from a calm 'I love you' to a more excited/mad-sounding 'I LOVE YOU', it can also change the sound of not-so-serious 'fuck you' to a lot more serious 'FUCK YOU'. See the difference? The punishment for it, the five minutes mute, is not that big a deal, but noticably it's been the cause of a few members growing restless, so I decided to ignore the rule once for all.
  • While it's true, I have some personal vendetta against Neelon (and I won't even deny it, I just wish you knew the reasoning behind it), I try to look at members equally. In Saikou's and Uzi's case, I dislike the extensive 'meme-ing' in lounge and occassional edgy pol comments of Saikou (namely - 'nuke all of Middle East' and such), but then again, recently I started looking at her from a different prism that isn't so red, so I think I'm reasonably calm about it now. In Uzi's case, however, my weakness is my short temper and I got overexcited and went unreasonably overboard, provoked to a discussion that should never take place. This is my fault entirely and I admit it, some members have been reasonably upset by it.
  • Regarding me muting Saikou and Uzi for 30 seconds, this has been done because the both of you could not stop 'meme-ing' and in turn, disrupted Similier from expressing his opinion. If you insist it's a bad decision, I can't help but treat you like a kid that got mad at a teacher because he got punished for yelling in class. A thirty-second mute carries no physical nor mental pain, is short enough to call it reasonable in response for such action and helps someone else say something meaningful.
  • I have not changed my mind about jokes, and I'll hold onto it. I have seen enough pain caused by 'jokes', some I even felt myself. Again, I shouldn't have started a debate in a public place like this, and I only managed to upset other members instead of proving my point. Still, what happened, happened, and I can only take it as a lesson for the future if anything.
  • I do, and I won't cease to, express my opinion about others. Besides being a mod, I'm also an user, and an user is allowed to express their opinion about something/someone due to the all-famous free speech rule, that Saikou once tried to use against my reasoning. If being a mod means being stripped off my rights as an user because other users find it insulting, this is not the place I wish to serve. Regardless of me liking/disliking a person, I don't let those feelings dictate the judgement for me.
  • I may let some emotions sway my judgement, and it's not acceptable. I don't expect any sympathy because of that, and if anything, you're justified for getting mad at me because of that. I don't have any explanation for it other than 'I'm a human', but it can be easily disregarded - after all, mods on majority of sites are trained to be emotionless machines in their judgement.
  • The whole argument about nsfw/sfw images in lounge has been intended as a joke. But, as I already said, jokes can really hurt, so I guess I went overboard with that one and in turn made people upset. Regarding talking about someone's back, plot twist - I never did. Just as you said, I'm not afraid to speak shit about people I hate. The thing is, if I do, I'm not too harsh about it, and I do it in #lounge - so all it takes is scrolling up to see what I said about x person. I don't back off when the person in question is online, either, so they're free to take it to PM with me, as for instance Saikou did, to talk things over. I don't understand why you'd be mad about it, besides something you yourself said - I tend to dislike people you do like. If you don't consider me cool anymore, so be it, but bear in mind I'm no longer allowed to be as carefree as others, including my past self.

I don't think you should be letting us vote i honestly think this should be up to the staff team, i already voted and i said No.
Sure you may have some control problems from what ive read but as long as you treat me with respect i'll give the same back.
And you're not the worst mod ive met i'm also a bit alike although caps does not bother me, i would just say you're a lucky
nazi mod. Although making your own rules as time goes on is not a good trait.

Why don't you take that last vote yourself?

Considering you've read both, positive and negative inputs you should be able to know what you should improve. This being said you should also know what you aren't able to improve or change.

Half of the people want you, other half doesn't want you. What do you personally believe and want?

Simi is, like, perfectly fine. Anyhow, I really appreciated that. And while I found that whole discussion totally pointless, and nana was the one starting it, I didn't feel like nana was keeping it going at the end.
At the end of the day I would have voted 'no' too, but since I'm only here for four days now, I'm not in the least in the position that my opinion carries any big value coming into this topic.

It seems to be the opposite for me, I love our nanashi to bits and you're really the only admin who I think doesn't deserve a kick in the head.

So no, pls stay for the sanity of my (and many others') mind.

I don't can't really say I know Nanashi well, though I do completely understand what siuation he is in seeing my past works. Though I can say, he is quite humble to come out that he isn't perfect when it come to moderation. I would also say "No" due to the fact that pretty much improvement is always the key. How about, try to improve yourself when it comes to moderation. I am pretty sure you will do better with the critism people give you when doing your job and you should listen to them.

I wish you luck ^ . ^

Voting over, the 'contra' option won. So I guess I'll be staying.

Refer to my previous post for more information. For now, thanks everyone for voting and expressing your opinion, this will serve as a base for my judgements from now onwards. If I'm staying as a mod, I'll try and do things in a way that everyone is happy. Foolish promise, but I'll try to stick to it.
