So, did you ever want to play any of those MMORPGs you might have heard about? No, not Dota, League of Legends or Rocket League, just MMORPGs. If so, or if you play/played any of them, this is the place for you. Recommendations, looking for pals to play with or questions in general will be found here. If the thread succeeds, anyway. >_<

As for myself, I'm currently looking to play pretty much any MMORPG.
I used to play AION and currently redownloaded it, so I might be starting over if I find some people willing to play as well. I'd suggest looking through the page to see if it's something that's up your alley. It has two factions, rivaling with each other, both with same classes (there's 11 of those, so a lot of stuff to try out). The game plays typically PvE until level 50 (with optional PvP area you can access), then it's PvE and PvP at the same time, late game is pretty much dungeons/PvE. You're free to grind to get what you want, but if you don't do it, you might obtain pretty nice gear nonetheless, so there's that. Oh, also, the game's skill-heavy, so each class has a whole lot of skills (around 60-70?) with optional skills that you decide on. The crafting system is pretty good, if used wise it can be a source of steady income - though hitting the Master level with it is a lot of tough work. There's also guilds, housing, pets and pretty much anything you'd want from such a game (especially the gear), so if you see something you like, nothing's preventing you from trying it. I'm currently using the US client (so NCSOFT one), since European is really limited for free users, while US offers everything for free.

Other games I have are Wildstar and TERA Rising (non-Steam version since they removed the game from Steam in Europe). I'm still looking for more fun games, so if you know any, be sure to let me know!

P.S. will probably be playing Blade & Soul and Black Desert once they come out in 2016.

Hmm, I used to play TERA a while back with some friends, but we fell out of interest for some reason. Right now, we're waiting on the Tree of Savior Online beta to get released.

I've played Lineage II in the good old days.

Usually I play MMORPGs to level 15-30, then I lose interest.
Also I don't have a computer that is good enough for games atm :(

Don't break the silence. There is nothing to save.

Dragon's Nest is the only MMO that I've really liked so far. Elsword is alright too but it crashes on my PC now.

I played FFXIV ARR for a long time, maxed to characters. I hated playing any class but archer though.

Isn't there an NA version now?

Used to obsessively play RS / RSPS' back in the day. Bet hosting and pvp took up so many years of my life.

I know the feeling. I thought about checking it out, but between a few other games I play and FFXIV, I doubt I'd be able to dedicate time to it.

I don't believe so.

What simply happened, IIRC, is that enough Americans took over a server to the point where they can claim dominion over it. They essentially strong-armed their way in, or that's how we done it when I still played it.

I can't find an MMO to stick to because none of my friends play MMO's and it's super boring alone.

That was probably it to be honest. I just remember reading something about it.

I've been playing a bit of GW2 recently, since my manager is into it and he wanted me to play.

I was also into WoW but I kind of burnt myself out and can't play it anymore.

I tried palying Tera, but the game was kind of shit and I only played it because the Elin race was super cute.

I can vouch that GW2 is amazing, especially if you take any pleasure in PvP or boss battling.

Sadly, I don't play. I lost my password and any form of recovering and I don't have the money to buy another copy.

Just re-subbed to FFXIV for that 3.1 Patch update coming Nov 10th. Playing Elsword (VoidEls) here and there, and Darkscape occasionally. Big on CSGO though so my MMORPG time is getting cut into lol.

I have a love-hate relationship with MMORPGs. My first MMO was World of Warcraft (as it was for many of us) and I absolutely loved the game at the time. My computer however, did not. I'd get frequent crashes due to the intense video graphics, even on low settings, and then I eventually accepted that my machine wasn't powerful enough so I just quit. It was rather unfortunate really, as my Paladin was almost level 40, so I never got to obtain a mount. Now I hear that players get mounts at level 20, the spoiled noobs!

After I quit WoW, a few of my high school buddies got me to play Ragnarok Online with them on a private server. (unofficial server that did not require a subscription fee) If World Of Warcraft consumed my life, then Ragnarok Online consumed my soul. I don't think I've ever devoted so much time and effort into a video game for as long as I've lived. It was a very small niche community, not unlike what we have here at Lewd. Everyone knew each other and the PvP and character leveling was very competitive because of it. If you were active enough to be involved in this competition, you were basically a legend in the community because you only had 2 or 3 rivals of the same class. The downfall of our server was that our admins didn't think advertising was necessary, they preferred to just have our players rate the server on voting sites. This eventually led to more people quitting than joining, and they had to shut it down. I played as the top Paladin on that server for 2 years, and now I have nothing to show for it, save for the memories and a few friends on Facebook.

Since then, I've never been able to really get into an MMO for more than a few months without losing interest. I tried other Ragnarok servers, (including the official iRO) but they just weren't the same. I played Guild Wars 2 for a little bit last year, and was pretty impressed by the graphics and combat system, but you can basically just solo level the whole game, which defeats the purpose of playing an MMO. A friend of mine talked me into playing Final Fantasy XIV after that, and there are a LOT of things I like about that game: The classes and skills, the incredibly deep emote system, the character customization, and the Golden Saucer to name a few. However, I still can't really get into an MMO the way I did before. I just don't want to put as many hours into it, I played the game maybe 10 hours a week tops. (usually it was more like 4 or less) Because of this, I deemed that it just wasn't worth the money to be paying every month for a game I don't play enough. So I ended up uninstalling FFXIV as of this summer.

I am now waiting for the release of Tree of Savior like @mis, as it is the closest thing I'll ever get to having the Ragnarok Online experience that I remember. But to be perfectly honest, I don't think I'm going to last on there. I am pretty sure I'm just going to end up with the same scenario as I did with FFXIV: not putting enough hours into it to make it worth repeatedly paying for the game. In some ways I am OK with this, as I don't really want to get sucked into another MMO. I'd rather just play my games in short sessions, playing them when the mood strikes. I don't want to be obligated to play a game just because it makes me pay for it again every month, or because my friends passed me by 5 levels over the week.
