We all know about the famous Manga Guide To Lisp. Which is available in Japanese.

I was wondering about writing a manga guide to something.

I thought of the following topics:
  • Ruby
  • Torrenting ?
  • Recursivity
  • Lambda Calculus
  • Networking
  • FreeBSD / GNU+Linux
But I was wondering what you guys would be interested in. The topic should be software related but I’m open to other suggestions.

I don’t care about the size of the project. 1 to +infnty pages is fine.

I feel like out of the topics you suggested, if I had the ability to draw, I'd choose the torrenting topic! Mainly because that's the topic I'm most confident about.

I'd personally make The Manga Guide to Angular! Can't say I've read one of these things before, though I did peruse The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up, which adapts the similarly-named book by Marie Kondo.

In my book, I'd cast two main characters: An astroengineer (Let's call her... Sophie!), and a tangible holographic AI known as *Engi-chan (nifty little pun on both Angular's preferred abbreviation of "ng", and "Engineer"). You know she's an AI since she has that silent asterisk in her name, something I totally didn't rip off from Analog: A Hate Story.

The rest of the details are rather fuzzy, but I imagine the primary plot device would be Sophie's projects as an astroengineer. Drafting modular space stations would be a decent metaphor for Angular's components feature, while providers and pipes could be introduced by organizing mining robots and refineries for a new colony. All interspersed with code samples and exercises themed towards that particular chapter.

Shoot, I'd read it. Half the fun of these guides is seeing how they teach complex concepts like this. Best of luck with writing yours, by the way. :)

I will start with a guide to torrenting. Might take a lot of time though. Thanks for your suggestions.

Didn't realize you were gonna be doing it up, thought it was sort of a "What would you do?" kinda thing. I look forward to seeing this! ^^

I will be working on this as a side project. I might still fail to produce a full manga; I mean, it will be difficult not to insert big chunks of text here and there. Hopefully, I can break those in slighter pieces of information.

Also I am in the process of getting used to digital drawing. (I am more of the pen n paper type.)
