Hey forum-people :-D

I've wondered off- and on, why I read light novels sometimes - when I do, I just read every chapter that is out at that moment and then never check for updates...
Usually though, I read alot - only traditional novels, SF and Science Fantasy mostly - Bradbury, Doctorow, Stross, Gene Wolfe, etc.

So my question is: Do you know of any LN that is good in the traditional sense - not in the binge-reading-sense? Not oh, this tickles my wishful thinking and even though the translation is sub-par and the author might as well be a 9 year old idiot of no culture but - I actually enjoyed this book thoroughly and it enriched my perspective/knowledge?

The one light novel I have read this mostly applies to was the Faraway Paladin (Saihate no Paladin) - but that may just have been my exhilaration at it being an official translation.

Do you know any? Be honest! Hahah^^

i make a regular tradition of reading the nhk ni youkoso! light novel, it's very very good! especially in comparison with the anime, which i love but it's nowhere near the original light novel to me! i'd very much recommend it!! ^~^
