Here is the fifth issue of the Lewd News, written by the Writers group.

Sorry it's a little late again. People were busy.

So Metal Gear Solid 5 was finally released, and from what critics say, it seems to have been worth the wait. While fans are going wild over Kojima's final Metal gear, Kojima himself has an additional treat for his fans.

A 10 minute farewell video was posted on Youtube this past week. It features Kojima as he speaks with various voice actors and industry veterans as they all show their appreciation for what he's done. It's an interesting watch. Check it out:

In darker, yet more light-hearted news, Party Hard was released this week on Steam! <Inters Andrew W.K. joke here.>

Party Hard puts you in the role of a man who's trying to sleep while his neighbors are throwing a loud party. It's your job to ... kill them all.

Murder 100s of party goers in a variety of ways while avoiding being caught or killed by another psycho. All this fun, and it's even rendered in gorgeous pixel graphics. Steam Page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/356570

Secret episodes! What?
If you're up to date with ongoing anime, you might be following God Eater and Charlotte. Well, as it turns out, God Eater instead of airing the eighth episode next week will instead greet us with yet another extra. They sure know how to keep the viewers on their toes... As for Charlotte, the 7th Blu-ray/DVD volume will have an unaired episode. Which potentially could make me all hyped up and all, but I'm not going to see the show. You guys should definitely check it out, though!

Noooooo GOD! NOOO, God Please, No!
cough So, you might wonder why I picked such a title for this section. It's fine, I wonder about that myself... Well, I just found out that Gokukoku no Brynhildr is getting an English dub. The very fact makes me cringe. Get the God-forsaken show, add mediocre English voices that don't belong there and awkward censorship = 100% successful cringe recipe. Enjoy!

The Japanese sure enjoy their women battling titties titles.
Sekirei, Maken-ki, Kampfer, dozens more, can we stop already? Apparently not, as Valkyria Drive -Mermaid- will try to prove. Yet another title with female fighting and potentially undressing. Anyone hyped? Well, I don't know about you, but the synopsis is kinda mediocre. But still. Shoujo ai!

Quote:The "beautiful girl sexy battle action" anime is set on five artificial islands. A girl named Mamori Tokonome is transferred to one of those islands, "Mermaid." When Mamori is attacked, a newly transferred girl named Mirei saves her. The enemy doesn't stop, however, and the two are soon cornered. Just when they think all hope is lost, Mirei kisses Mamori, and Mamori turns into a sword. Mirei then wields the sword and launches a counterattack against their enemies.

Issue #5: Tomggg

Tatsuya Fujishiro, better known by his stage name "Tomggg" is an electronic musician based out of Chiba Prefecture, Japan. He is currently signed to the record label Maltine Records, who put out all sorts of music somewhat similar to the style of Tatsuya. Tomggg is mostly well known for his signature sounds and chord progressions throughout his songs bring a somewhat innocent, cutesy vibe to his creations only to be matched by the artwork released alongside it. Tomggg began to get large amounts of recognition once his collaboration with the largely renowned Canadian record producer Ryan Hemwsorth was unveiled, titled "Cream Soda". This release not only gained the rising musician notoriety, but led him on to be one of the key artists from Maltine Records. Tomggg has since gone on to release many remixes for amazing artists such as Porter Robinson & Spazzkid and even releasing his own debut album titled "Butter Sugar Cream". Who knows what the future may hold for this rising star, but we can definitely be sure to stay tuned for what's to come next.

Samsung announces 4k capable Bluray player
engadget.com Wrote:Samsung has announced the first (consumer ready) Ultra HD Blu-ray player, alongside word that movie studio Fox is already getting its releases ready for the new format. That means 4K movies, yes, but also compatibility for HDR video. Here's a closer look at the curved UBD-K8500 player -- perfect for that new curved Ultra HDTV, right?

Eyyyy 4k to the average consumer! Is it still too early? I'd think so. The support is here but the 4k Blu-rays aren't. I'm actually interested in what is inside the Blu-ray drive that can output 4k.

PowerColor Launches Radeon R9 390 X2 Devil13 Dual-GPU Graphics Card
techpowerup.com Wrote:TUL Corporation, a leading and innovative manufacturer of AMD graphic cards since 1997, has proudly announced a new and most powerful graphics card in the world among AMD Radeon R9 390 series. The PowerColor Devil 13 Dual Core R9 390 is packed with dual GRENADA core, designed to tackle the most demanding high end gaming titles on the market. It utilizes 16 GB of GDDR5 memory with a core clock speed at 1000 MHz, and 1350 MHz for memory clock speed which is connected via a new high speed 1024-bit (512-bit x2) memory interface.

PowerColor Devil 13 Dual Core R9 390 is built with carefully-designed Platinum Power Kit and ultra-efficient thermal design. It consists of massive 15-phase power delivery, PowerIRstage, Super Cap and Ferrite Core Choke that provides the stability and reliability for such high-end graphics solution. To support maximum performance and to qualify for the Devil 13 cooling system, 3 Double Blades Fans are attached on top of the enormous surface of aluminum fins heatsink connected with total of 10 pieces of heat pipes and 2 pieces of large die-cast panels. This superb cooling solution achieves a perfect balance between thermal solution and noise reduction. The PowerColor Devil 13 Dual Core R9 390 has the LED backlighting that glows a bright red color, pulsating slowly on the Devil 13 logo.

Freaking dope card! I remember seeing videos on the Powercolor 2 X 290x video cards and wondering if the customers would ever need a furnace in their houses. But seriously, this card (technically two cards) will need at least a 1000w power supply. I'm really interested in how this card will perform in DX12 tests. Stay tuned to find out, I'll put any news on AMD in my weekly tech article.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 990M Comes With Full GM204 GPU

wccftech.com Wrote:There have been rumors of a Maxwell based GeForce GTX 990M mobility chip being launched soon by NVIDIA. It was revealed that the chip will make its arrival in Q4 2015 but there have been no word about the GeForce GTX 990M aside from some rumored specifications. At IFA 15, Computerbase managed to play around with a ROG G700 series laptop which ASUS launched a couple of hours ago and they found out that the Maxwell GPU housed inside the laptop had 2048 CUDA cores, confirming that that NVIDIA痴 fastest mobility graphics card is going to launch pretty soon.

Cool? Eh, sorta. Nvidia is best friends with ROG and decided to release a 990M. Which is stupid. Why not just SLI 980M's like some other laptops? Because it sounds cool. 990M sounds like a new 900 series graphics card, but it's not. It just has more CUDA cores, which won't help a ton on a laptop.

Intel: No plans for a socketed Skylake with eDRAM
techreport.com Wrote:You may recall that the surprise star of our recent Core i7-6700K review was the Core i7-5775C, a chip based on the prior-generation Broadwell architecture with a novel configuration.
You see, the Core i7-5775C is a socketed desktop processor, but it's derived from a mobile-focused product that incorporates 128MB of eDRAM on the package with the CPU. The eDRAM is present mainly to act as an accelerator for integrated graphics, and it's pretty effective in that role. Intel CPUs with Iris Pro graphics and eDRAM have been used in Apple's iMac and in nifty little systems like the Brix Pro.
However, that eDRAM doesn't just act as a graphics cache. It's an L4 cache for the entire processor預 big, fast pool of on-package memory that can accelerate any task whose workinwg data set fits into it.

What does all this mean you might say. This article is very controversial because Intel's new chip, the 6700k and 6600k, only have 8 MB cache. The Core i7-5775C, a non-socketed mobile chip, has 128 MB cache. This cache is usually used for Integrated Graphics and such, but it can be use for intense rendering. Intel's ultra high-end Xeon chips, for server use, have tons of cores for multi-rendering and come with less cache than this mobile chip. Why did Intel add so much cache to this mobile chip? Why are we revolving around the sun? What is life? All these questions can have lengthy debates.

No Lewd changes to report this week.

Upcoming changes:
  • Making the quotes alert people, and removing the old quote option from the postbit completely.
  • A new theme. I'm scrapping my flat design and instead have a nicer idea in mind (just gotta commission a decent artist to bring it to life).
  • Moar dakka (aka some pretty intense speed optimisation)
  • A complete UX/layout rework. I plan on making Lewd easier to browse for everyone, with a focuses on interactions between one another, and quality content.
  • After a little bit of work, I'll be adding the "today's top poster" plugin that I was going to release with the new theme, but I guess it could be released sooner.

Sorry I've been a little slack with the changes recently, I promise we'll have a lot more done soon!

Some nice threads:
Daily activity has gone back up slightly, hopefully we can get it back to a decent speed with the advertising.
