Here is the fourth issue of the Lewd News, written by the Writers group.

Sorry it's a little late. People were busy.

Slow news week, so all I have are a couple tidbits about Konami.

This week MGS 5 is released! It is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and probably the most anticipated iteration of the series itself. It has been plagued with delays, fan backlash over casting, and perhaps the biggest publisher/developer shitstorm of all time. You may have thought it was over, but fear not! Konami has managed one last way to piss in your Cherios, just in time for breakfast.

MGS5 will feature micro transactions. Think of them what you will, but the bottom line is this: After you pay $60+ for this game, Konami will do its best to shake you down for more.

Old news here, but Silent Hill's next iteration will be a pachinko machine. After turning Castlevania's lifeless corpse into a puppet hanging by wires, Silent Hill was selected as the next sacrifice. RIP old Konami. Hit the lever!!!!

I will leave you with this quote from one of my heroes:

"Fuck Konami, becasue Konami is Konami, and Konami is the worst!"

anime
by @Nanashi

Wait... more?
Yuru Yuri. Rings a bell? That one anime about a group of girls in a club doing random stuff... oh wait... yeah, that's just one of the many. So that one particular title will get a third season, for whatever reason. And it's starting on October 5, so synchronize your watches and... forget about it.

Card games sure are popular these days.
Rage of Bahamut? Know it? It's that one card game apparently so many people play it's a huge success. They made an anime about it in 2014 and it was great. Well, Cygames announced that the event-based anime will air in 2016. It will be called Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends. Worth noting, it's just an anime about a certain in-game event, in no way related to the original anime.

In the world there is the idea of the subconscious and basic conscious but what is it that creates this divide? Is it possible that you can learn to harness the two into one?

If you were to focus that point and almost turn off your brain to be able to focus your subconscious so that you would in fact be a cog in a machine by just muscle memory, then even the simplest task could be done without issue. But then you must ask, what else is possible with such skills? could you use your subconscious to help out make energy blast for one or maybe rapidly heal yourself? or just use it as a form of intense focus that you can then use to complete many tasks at once?

Issue #4: Akira Complex

Brandon Thompson, also known by his stage name, Akira Complex, is a US and Japan based producer and sound designer.

The young prodigy began his journey three years ago with his remix for the producers DJ Shimamura and NO+CHIN on their "Step Into the Future" EP. Shortly after this release and his self-release of the single "Astral", well known DJ and Game Composer Kosuke Saito, better known as Kors K, took notice of his work and signed him to his record label S2TB.

Since then multiple releases have surfaced with his name on the record label such as the singles "Foresight" and "Odyssey". After refining his skills along the way, years after signing with S2TB, Akira Complex announced his debut album "The Synthesis Collective". The album featured 11 tracks in total with remixes from familiar names such as Au5 and once again, DJ Shimamura. The album was released in early 2015 with widespread success and since then has Akira Complex has gone on even to produce music for shows such as Sex and Violence with Mach Speed.

Although lots has happened, I can't help but feel this is only the beginning for the rising producer.

MSI ANNOUNCES LIGHTNING 980TI:
digitaltrends.com Wrote:As one of the most powerful graphics cards in the world, the Nvidia GTX 980 Ti is a pretty sought-after piece of kit. Those that like their GPUs colorful will likely be doubly interested in MSI’s new version of it too. The GTX 980 Ti Lightning is factory overclocked, giving increased performance, has a high powered cooler and a new color scheme that really makes it stand out from the crowd.
For those after the raw numbers, the Lightning card has a bumped core clock of 1,203 MHz (a full 20 percent more than the stock GTX 980 Ti clock speeds) which boosts up to 1,304MHz — a big jump over the 1,075MHz of the standard GPU. The memory clock has been bumped up by a further 96MHz too, which while unlikely to be a tangible difference, could help net a couple more points in any performance-focused benchmarks.

Source.

THE HYPE IS REAL EVERYONE. MSI FINALLY CAME OUT WITH A KICKASS LIGHTNING CARD. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. But seriously, I'm really excited to see the benchmarks for this kickass card. I don't know if it will beat the Zotac or Gigabyte 980ti's, but on water I bet it will kick some serious ass.

Nvidia cards trail behind AMD on DX12 benchmark:
extremetech.com Wrote:When Ashes of the Singularity launched two weeks ago it gave us our first view of DirectX 12’s performance in a real game. What was meant to be a straightforward performance preview was disrupted by a PR salvo from Nvidia attempting to discredit the game and its performance results. Oxide Games refuted Nvidia’s statements about the state of Ashes, but the events raised questions about the state of Nvidia’s DX12 drivers and whether its GPUs were as strong in DirectX 12 as they have been in DirectX 11. (Oxide itself attributed these differences to driver maturity, not any fundamental quality of either GPU family). Now, an unnamed Oxide employee has released some additional information on both the state of Ashes and the reason why AMD’s performance is so strong.

Source.

I have heard of DirectX favoring AMD's cards but those benchmarks speak thousands of words. DirectX will definitely be implemented in the newer AAA titles, so I'm really excited in how AMD will get a comeback.

The new Xbox One Elite comes with a 1TB SSHD and Elite controller:
thenextweb.com Wrote:It features a 1TB solid state hybrid hard drive and the new customizable Elite controller for $499 in the US. Microsoft says the new SSHD hard drive means you’ll get into games 20 percent faster than the original Xbox One console and it automatically optimizes games and apps to open faster.
The Elite Controller allows gamers to customize the thumbsticks, directional pad and paddles for gamers to get the controller to their liking.

Source.

Eh. Microsoft is trying to appeal to the higher tier of console people but I really think this isn't necessary. The Elite controller is an obvious ripoff of the SCUF controllers, and with much looser paddles. Adding a SSHD is a weird option. Why not just throw a 500 gb Samsung SSD? A 500 gb ssd is around 180$ USD currently. It will run cooler and with less noise.

Sony spokesman says the Xperia Z5 'Premium' has a 4K screen:
engadget.com Wrote:Sony's incoming Xperia Z5 flagship will be the first smartphone with a 4K screen, according to a leaked video from Clubic.com. In it, Sony's marketing director says the company will release both a 5.2-inch Z5 and 5.5-inch Z5 'Premium,' and the video (below) is focused on the larger model. On top of the 4K screen (which yields over 800 pixels per inch), the device also packs a 23-megapixel camera with a 0.03 second autofocus and 5X digital zoom, confirming a previous leak. The new flagship will be just as waterproof and dustproof as the Xperia Z3+ model, but with an interesting twist -- the micro-USB connector is waterproof, even without a cover.

@Neko S/O to the Sony fanboy Admin. Yep. Someone would eventually come out with a 4K smartphone. Sony stepped up to the plate. I bet Sony will only come out with a certain amounts of these phones since 4K is not widely used. (Almost) all apps are only rated for 1080p and streaming 4K is a strain on the user's network.

Editorial Note: I'm not a Sony fanboy. ;-; - @Neko

We reached 16k posts and 1.2k threads.

I have changed my username from Senpai to Neko; as it matches my username on github, so I figured I'd take up the name myself.

No Lewd changes to report this week.

Upcoming changes:
  • Making the quotes alert people, and removing the old quote option from the postbit completely.
  • A new theme. I'm scrapping my flat design and instead have a nicer idea in mind (just gotta commission a decent artist to bring it to life).
  • Moar dakka (aka some pretty intense speed optimisation)
  • A complete UX/layout rework. I plan on making Lewd easier to browse for everyone, with a focuses on interactions between one another, and quality content.
  • After a little bit of work, I'll be adding the "today's top poster" plugin that I was going to release with the new theme, but I guess it could be released sooner.

Some nice threads:
Daily activity has dropped by around 50% over the last week, I'm gonna put this down to summer ending in the US, and people being busy IRL.

If you'd like to help increase Lewd's already amazing userbase, there's a couple of things you can do:

Advertise
Created a really nice thread, or like a thread that someone else created? Want to use that thread to help grow Lewd?:
Submit it to Reddit or Voat subs, share it in steam groups, share it with your friends, or post it on your social networking profiles. The possibilities are endless.

Tell your friends
The main thing that helps any forum grow is word of mouth; by inviting your friends, it opens up the possibility that those friends will invite their friends, and your friends friends will invite their friends, and so forth.

Of course I'll be paying for advertisements shortly, and doing the above things myself, but I'll greatly appreciate any help that I can get.

Nice addition even though I'm already in-love with the current theme.

This applies to me definitely. Unless someone reminds me that it's coming soon or that its already came out and even then, I'd procrastinate before watching =.=

I am glad that you actually acknowledged this and didn't blow it off like most other administrators would. I do my bit my being relatively active and I'd recommend this to my friends, but sadly none of them are weeaboos.

As am I, but I also love the ideas I have in mind for the new theme; don't worry, it'll be just as nice, if not better.

Ya, there's no use pretending that the lack of activity isn't there; I have noticed, and am doing my best to work on it. :)

I'm actually kinda sad you didn't use the one that you were planning, but hopefully the next version will be more compatible with everyone's tastes :D
