I am so hype about this because it will be an emotional movie and I love those kinds.
So what’s Koe no Katachi(A Silent Voice)?
Well it’s a manga about Shoko Nishimiya a mute transfer student who was bullied by her classmate Shoya Ishida. Things happened since elementary school and the both of them got to be in the same high school.  The best description of this is provided by Crunchyroll I think :

Quote: I wish we had never met. I wish we could meet once again. A boy who can hear, Shoya Ishida, and a transfer student who can’t, Shoko Nishimiya. One fateful day, the two meet, and Shoya leads the class in bullying Shoko. But before long, the class shifts its target from Shoko to Shoya. Years later, Shoya feels strongly that he must see Shoko once again.

It’s a wonderful story which I can’t wait to see in action on my screen, the first impression of this manga is on the way so stay tuned.

The manga was really sad QQ. I wonder who the voice actors will be for this movie.

It's a really emotional and deep manga from the start. I really love it.

Bump.

The movie was great. I absolutely adored the voice acting in this... art was gorgeous and the raw emotions was surreal.

9/10. Some flaws but I think everyone can look past them for the shear quality and artistic value of the movie. I haven't read the manga, but this movie is definitely a must watch~. I cried.

There's a bluray raw and good subs (35mm subs) out there so you can get this now.

Sweet, I was wondering whether the quality was good or not, but bluray is basically guaranteed yums

Yup, I watched it in the cinema and the rip and the 35mm subs were better than the ones in the cinema, and it's bluray quality.

Unfortunately you can't really replicate the cinema experience at home but it's as good as you're going to get.

Unfortunately the cinema experience is usually murmuring in the theatre, some sneezing here and there, and the occasional bark of laughter that cuts tension faster than a car driving off a cliff.

I'll take the home experience any day.

Either there isn't much murmuring/sneesing in the cinemas near me or I just don't notice it. I'd guess the latter. However I do think laughter in the cinema is fine, it didn't hurt my enjoyment of Koe no katachi or Kimi no Na Wa at all: it was pretty well timed. Maybe i've just got good audiences.

Regardless, the sound and visuals on a proper cinema screen I do appreciate more than watching on my PC.

tfw I'm taking that blu-ray rip straight to my 4K TV with a comfy recliner and a nice bowl of fee- popcorn. :')

I watched it a couple of months ago, it was lovely to say the least. the manga - i read it after watching the movie- was good as well, but tbh the anime does a better a job, especially thanks to the great work saori hayami with the voice of nishimiya, the rich animation and I also appreciated the choices of which part of the original stories they decided to cut and which to focus more. and btw nishimiya is definitely the cutest 2d i've seen so far, KyoAni always delivers the best /feels/
