Nothing's wrong with my current keyboard- I actually really love the Razer Deathstalker keyboard. But I figure it'd be great to get a new one because I heard that the mechanical keyboards are great, and confirmed it when I tried out my friend's keyboard (corsair something).
So yea. That's the gist.

I was thinking of getting the Corsair Strafe RGB, but I'm not really a hardware dude (hence why I ended up with a deathstalker)- especially when it comes to peripherals (like, I don't know what "Cherry MX Red" means. That a flavor?)- so the only logical decision for me to make would be to ask for some help.
Preference:
Easy to press, but not so easy that just resting my fingers down would press a key
RGB/pretty colors and patterns are a plus

Sooo
ye.

What you are looking for is a cherry mx red switch.

I dont have a mechanical keyboard since im not rich, but those have the least force needed to register a "press"

almost every keyboard is RGB anyway

I'm not sure about actually recommending but here's something to consider.

The thought about buying keyboard-- looks, features, and brands are few things, but you probably should know about different types of mechanical switches.

Cherry MX Red refers to a type of Mechanical Keyboard Switch-- which, in a sense, is like a "flavor" for your fingers. It's the matter of whether you like to press keys that are stiff or soft.

The major ones you normally see are Red, Blue, Black, and Brown:

Red is usually the popular one you'll see around, especially in gaming. It doesn't take too much of a force to press down and it's not too loud to type on either. Key presses are pretty enjoyable, but it's commonly used/preferred by most gamers. Usually if you're using chiclet or membrane keyboards, light keys like Reds are safe approach. I personally don't like it much as it feels a bit too light for my taste; I tend to press wrong keys with it.

Blue is clicky and loud-- people who type often tend to like this one as you can both feel and hear the actual press very clearly. If you know the old keyboards from pre-1990's, it's really similar. This one takes a bit more force than Red to press on, and it takes a bit longer time for the switch to reset, so if you need to mash buttons, this isn't gonna help. Sometimes the double taps are unresponsive... It's not like you can't use it for gaming, it's just not the best to do so with it. I love the feel and clickiness of Blue but I can't mash buttons. But the clickity-clicks are lovely. The feel, I mean literally, the feedback on your fingers, the keys feel like it's popping back at your finger.

Brown is like the borderline of Red and Blue. It's slightly heavier than Red, but definitely lighter than Blue without being all clicky and loud. It's pretty well known for being pretty versatile between gaming and typing. The feedback of key press is weaker than Blue, but you'll still feel that pop. So if you're into typing a lot and playing games without needing to switch keyboards or buying another, this is usually a safe choice as well if you don't mind pressing slightly harder than Red.

Black is the heaviest among the four-- this one is great for avoiding pressing wrong key in RTS games like Warcraft, Starcraft, C&C, etc... Then downside is that you might feel fatigue in your hands while using it for typing, like it kinda feels like you've been hanging on a cliff by your fingertips or something. Great thing about this one is that the keys pop up faster than the others since it has stronger spring, so you can clearly feel the key press and release. Button mashing feels insanely good on this one.

Non-mechanical:

I'm putting two kinds together since I usually see them together and I can't tell difference unless I open it up.

I mentioned Chiclet and Membranes, you can easily search up for these, but in short, they aren't usually tactile (that pop-back feedback I talked about), or at least, not as tactile as most Mechanical Switches. when you press on them, you'd feel a rubbery bump or something, but that's hardly recognizable if you're a faster typist or button masher. That Razor keyboard is Chiclet Keybaord, the kind you usually find in Macbooks(? they look similar) they're similar to Membrane, except Chiclet have keys like an island while membranes are literally the stupid flat kind of buttons on microwave that are pain in the ass to press 1:00 or 10:00 as it keep either not reading a 0 or reading that I pressed 0 twice. I hate it.

There are others like Dome and Scissor, I know my laptop have this key. Dome and Scissor are same thing, just that Scissor have two little things making an x shape to hold up a key cap. These keys are soft, I make tons of typo, I hate it so much. Weak tactile and it's not clikcy, just dbududbubdudbudbudbu...I want PTkakKATKAPKKatpkaKPATKPaTPAKPAKPAtKaAK. The way you tell is by its tactile and sound, but you can just rip out the key and cry trying to put it back in. Once those keys pop out for whatever reason... I swear.

Sometimes these non-mechanical keys can't read what I type. Not sure if it's because I press too hard and they pretty much wore off or I just have used shitty keyboards for too long.

More or less what IG said. The cherry switch you decide on is mostly personal preference and also dependant on what you plan to do. I personally use the blue switches just because I type a lot during the day and I love the feedback response that the keys give as they spring back up. If you plan on gaming go for the red switches. If you plan to do typing and gaming then go with the browns. If you plan on mostly doing typing then I recommend getting the blues (unless you don't want to wake up the neighborhood in which case browns again for a good medium). And finally if you're going to be doing A LOT of typing and maybe a bit of RTS games I recommend getting the black switches, however do note that if you do end up going for the black switches you'll feel a lot of fatigue in your fingers to begin with as you get used to the strength of the keys because the strength to push down a black switch key will be a lot more hence resulting in fatigue. However one benefit (unless you like the clicky sound) is that the Cherry MX Black switch has no tactile bump or audible click.

Alright thanks guys. I guess I'll go with the mx red and the keyboard I linked above

I do a lot of programming and writing so this sort of thing is important.
