World War II was a very devastating war...not to say that others weren't (because they were) however that is the time period where a lot of people rose above their comfort zones and did what they can to survive.  Notable figures and their stories like Anne Frank, President Roosevelt, Isoroku Yamamoto and so many others have always intrigued me.  One of the animes that I thoroughly enjoyed was Grave of the Fireflies which was actually set near the end of World War II. If you don't like heavy/sad movies this is probably not for you.

Have any of you seen it?

This one is actually a really sad anime movie and I do not  dare to watch it yet due to the emotions it could cause me.
At least I think it's pretty deep and scary :S just the story is so moving and interesting, but I still am not going to watch it soon.
